🚨TERRELL PD: THIS IS RETALIATION🚨
An independent arbitrator cleared an officer in Terrell exposing flawed investigations, zero evidence of untruthfulness, and no basis for the discipline imposed.

Instead of accepting that ruling, leadership is now trying to re-punish him for the same cleared allegations.

That’s not accountability.
That’s abuse of power.

TMPA won’t let the truth be twisted or the process weaponized against our members.

Thank you TMPA for your hard work and dedication to Officer Trenton Fischer. We are happy to have him back on the City of Terrell streets. Congratulations Officer Fischer on your win!

🚨LEGAL WIN🚨
TMPA Attorney Randall Moore delivered a major legal win in Terrell, (with a Terrell Police Department member) exposing a sham investigation fueled by lies and retaliation.

The arbitrator ruled there were multiple flaws in the investigation, with ZERO trace of evidence that our member was untruthful, and that the department tried to impose duties that didn’t exist. During arbitration, the Chief’s testimony was shown to be inaccurate and inconsistent with the truth.

Months later, the members of the Terrell Police Officers Association made their stance clear with a vote of no confidence in their leadership.

When power is abused and truth is buried, TMPA pushes back and wins. đź’Ş

Just one day prior to Officer Jacob Candanoza's death, the Terrell Police Officers Association hosted the annual Christmas party for the Terrell Police Department.

While we are delayed in expressing our gratitude publically, this event was made possible by several community businesses.

We are forever grateful for the time we were able to spend together.

The community has reached out asking for ways to help and show gratitude for the hard work of Officer Candanoza. His patrol vehicle is parked in front of the police station if you’d like to drop off flowers, cards or general well wishes.

On Sunday, December 8, 2024 around 11:00 pm, Officer Jacob Candanoza, Badge Number 6190, initiated a traffic stop in the 1600 block of S. State Highway 34.

Officer Candanoza requested a cover unit and units were dispatched. Within moments of this dispatch, the Terrell Police Department Communications Division received two 9-1-1 calls regarding an officer being shot. They then received a radio transmission from a citizen giving the same information. Responding officers were advised of this information, along with Terrell Fire Department and CareFlite being dispatched.

Officers arrived on scene and confirmed an officer had been shot. Medical attention was administered immediately and Officer Candanoza was transported to Baylor Scott and White in Forney. Unfortunately, Officer Candanoza did not survive the injuries sustained.

Officer Candanoza has been a police officer with the Terrell Police Department since July 2024. Our deepest condolences go out to his family as they navigate this tragic time.

We are asking for the community’s thoughts and prayers for K-9 Officer Max.

While we don’t have a clear diagnosis yet, Max is undergoing further medical evaluation at Texas A&M Veterinary Center in College Station to determine the cause of his recent health concerns.
