We have so much to learn from one another locally. That is how the idea of “250 Stories” was born.
As the United States celebrates 250 years of history, this new summer community series will honor the voices that continue shaping Kaufman County every single day. From local volunteers, new U.S. citizens, longtime residents, newcomers, business owners, students, and grandparents — every story matters because every story becomes part of the next generation of our county’s history.
“250 Stories” will be a mobile storytelling series focused on families and neighborhoods across Kaufman County. Instead of asking residents to come to one location, the series will travel throughout the county to meet people where their stories began — in homes, local businesses, parks, churches, schools, and community spaces.
Why did your family choose this city?
What brought you here?
Why do you stay?
What dreams are you building for the next generation?
Sometimes the most meaningful stories are quietly living next door without ever being told.
“250 Stories” will be recorded on weekends across Kaufman County, welcoming voices in English, Spanish, and the many languages that make our community beautifully unique.
