This is Lilly.💔

Lilly is only five months old. She is still just a baby, and instead of getting to spend her puppyhood running, playing, chewing on toys, and discovering the world, she is facing a painful road ahead.

Lilly had a broken leg, and unfortunately, this wasn’t an injury that would simply heal on its own. She needs extensive veterinary care, medication, and a long recovery.

She recently underwent a very urgent surgery at Pickens Animal Rescue Veterinary Hospital. They went in knowing that it was a bad break, were willing to give her a chance, assessed just how much damage was done, but ultimately she had to lose most of her leg.

Lilly has barely had the chance to experience life. She doesn’t understand why she’s been hurting or why she can’t run and play like a puppy should. All she knows is that something was wrong.

But we know one thing for certain: Lilly deserves a chance to grow up. ❤️

She deserves to know what it’s like to run through the yard without pain.
She deserves to chase toys and play like a normal puppy.
She deserves to wake up every morning knowing she is safe and loved.
She deserves to have a long, happy life ahead of her.

The cost of Lilly’s surgery, medications, follow-up appointments, and recovery care (on top of us already caring for all the animals in our care every day) is adding more strain on finances this year. That’s why we’re asking for help.

If you can donate, even $5, you’re helping give this tiny puppy a chance at the life she hasn’t even gotten to experience yet. If you can’t donate, please share Lilly’s story. Every share helps get her story in front of someone who may be able to help.

Lilly is only five months old. Her life is just beginning. 💔

Please help us give this sweet baby the chance to heal, grow up, and become the happy, playful dog she was meant to be.

Help Lilly heal. Help Lilly walk again. Help Lilly have the future she deserves. 🐾❤️

Thank you to everyone who donates, shares, prays, or simply takes a moment to care about this little girl.

💔We just received word this past weekend that former PAR dog Sydney recently crossed the 🌈Rainbow Bridge at 12 years old. She was adopted in July of 2020 along with little dog named Baby. We are so sorry to hear of her passing. She was such a joy to her family. RIP Sydney 💔😪

Unfortunately, it hasn’t been all good news this past week. While we are so thankful that Janie’s leg has healed, we have also taken in two new animals with serious leg injuries who now need our help. 💔🐾

One is a cat who appears to have been attacked, leaving him with multiple open wounds and a broken front leg. His leg has been splinted while he begins healing from his other injuries as well.

The other is a dog who has suffered a severely broken back leg that will require surgical repair.

We will share more information about these sweet babies soon. In the meantime, if you would like to help with their medical care, please see our pinned post for ways to donate. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us give animals like these the care and second chances they deserve. ❤️🐶🐱

Thank you, as always, for supporting our rescue and helping us be there when these animals need us most. 🐾

🐾 Janie (Baby Girl) update ‼️🐾
Remember this precious little girl? She sure is something! And she knows how to steal the hearts of everyone around her.
In only 2 months, her femur has healed in wonderfully and has fused together. And the pin was removed Friday afternoon. 🎉🥳
We know she is supposed to be resting a little while longer, but we had to let her have her zoomies for just 5 minutes. Just look how happy she is!
Thank you Dr Tyler and Pickens Animal Rescue Veterinary Hospital for giving her this chance.
Next steps: gaining a little more weight and scheduling her spay surgery.
And the best part?? 🤭 She already has an adopter lined up and ready to spoil her forever! 🥰
