🚨💔 URGENT INTAKE: Miko & Sakura 💔🚨

Just days after saying yes to Fable, another heartworm-positive dog, we welcomed two more lives that desperately needed help.

Miko (4) and Sakura (3) spent their lives being used for breeding before being abandoned in a barn. 😢🐩

Now that they’re finally safe, we’ve received heartbreaking news…

💔 Sakura is heartworm positive.

She will need life-saving treatment costing $675+, on top of the intake vetting, bloodwork, preventatives, and medical care both girls need.

Thankfully, Miko tested negative. 🙏 But the reality is that they both arrived with nothing, and the costs of giving them the fresh start they deserve are adding up quickly.

And they’re not the only ones.

🐾 Fable is needing heartworm treatment
🐾 Sakura now needs treatment + full vetting
🐾 Miko still needs full intake vetting care

The bills are stacking up. The shelters are flooded. The dogs in need are growing.💔

But when these dogs needed someone, we couldn’t look away.

We said YES.

YES to safety.
YES to medical care.
YES to saving their life.
YES to a second chance to live life as a dog instead of a means to an end.

Archie is a Beagle who was last seen in the area of Four Mile Creek Road, Bethel Road, and Walnut Cove.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Archie is very fearful and skittish around people. He is not aggressive, but he is likely to run if approached. He is not wearing a collar.

If you see Archie:
❌ Do NOT call out to him.
❌ Do NOT chase him.
❌ Do NOT make direct eye contact.
✅ Note the location, direction of travel, and time seen.
✅ Call the number listed on the flyer immediately.

The best chance of getting Archie home safely is by allowing him to remain calm and reporting sightings as quickly as possible.

These sweet dogs just entered rescue and while we don’t know much about their pasts yet, we do know this:
They deserve a future.

We are asking if you can open your home for one of these 17lb pups. One is a male, the other is female. They’re both about 3 years old.

Right now they need full vetting, preventatives, food, supplies, medical care, and a safe place to decompress as they begin their new chapter with Hero Dog Rescue.

Watching scared dogs learn to trust again never gets old 🐾

Dimetri is slowly learning that the world isn’t so scary after all 🤍

When he first came into his foster's home, he was nervous of quick movements, unsure of people, and needed time and space to decompress. But as the 3-3-3 Rule goes, day by day, his sweet personality keeps shining through.

Now? He’s asking for more pets, coming out of his shell, and showing us just how loving he really is. He LOVES people, loves to cuddle, and has become best play buddies with his foster brother while being so respectful of boundaries. Even with his foster's cat, he’s been such a gentle champ!

In almost a week, he is already learning basic commands, and is proving how smart and eager to please he is. Dimetri is truly such a good boy and would make any family so happy 😊

Looking for a puppy who has the perfect balance of an adventurous spirit and world-class lounge skills? Clove is your girl! At just 13 weeks old, this stunning brindle girl is already showing the world how clever and loving she is.

Clove is a tiny explorer! She completely mastered the doggie door on her very first try. She is 100% dog AND cat friendly! Whether she’s respectfully saying hello to her feline friends or squeezing right into the middle of a big dog cuddle puddle, she just wants to be part of the pack. When she’s on her own, you can usually find her caught sleeping on the job, soaking up some rays outside on her cot. When she’s done sunbathing, she transitions seamlessly to her true calling: being a snuggler pro. She loves nothing more than curling up tight with her foster mom and her favorite "mannys."

This is not the life we wanted for Myra. 💔

Day after day, this beautiful 4-year-old collie mix waits in boarding…hoping someone will finally open their heart and home.

And somehow, through all the uncertainty, Myra remains gentle, calm, and quietly hopeful.

She isn’t the kind of dog who demands attention the second you meet her. Myra takes a little time. A little patience. A little understanding. But once she feels safe and begins to trust you, you see the sweet, steady soul she truly is.

She settles beautifully when given consistency and routine. She walks nicely on leash and would be happiest enjoying peaceful sniff walks and a calm home where she can finally exhale.

The truth is, boarding has been hard on her confidence. A life without stability can make the world feel overwhelming. But we fully believe that with the right person — someone willing to give her patience, structure, and love — Myra will continue blossoming into the secure and happy companion she’s meant to be.

Fable Needs A Hero. 🤎

This sweet brindle boy is finally out of the shelter… but he’s still waiting for the part he really needs: a foster home.

Fable is on the smaller side at around 40 lbs, making him the perfect “just right” size. He’s happy-go-lucky, full of charm, and so grateful to be safe. Even after everything, he still greets the world with a wagging tail and happy eyes.

Right now, though, Fable is stuck in boarding — and while it’s better than a shelter kennel, it’s still not a home. He deserves more.

He deserves a couch.
A routine.
A person.
A chance to finally relax and just be someone’s buddy.
