As summer begins, we’d like to take a moment to introduce the Friends of Our Beautiful Carters Lake! We are a non-profit group that works to support the project. Check out more information in this video featuring Red Lyons, OBCL, and Allen Earhart, USACE. The Friends group organizes shoreline cleanups, National Public Lands Day, and has recently undertaken Hemlock preservation. We are proud to support the efforts of the US Army Corps of Engineers at Carters Lake!

We kicked off Safe Boating Week with our friends from FIND Outdoors and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Carters Lake! Remember, when life jackets are worn, nobody mourns!

Today is Wear Your Life Jacket at Work Day, the kickoff to National Safe Boating Week!

Today, FIND Outdoors staff joined the US Army Corps of Engineers and Friends of Our Beautiful Carters Lake Inc. to discuss tomorrow’s Carters Lake kickoff event and new ways we can work together to promote safety, stewardship, and outdoor recreation for all.

This historic, one of a kind partnership is helping protect and celebrate one of North Georgia’s greatest outdoor treasures: Carters Lake

If you’re heading out on the water this season, wear your life jacket. It saves lives.
