Hey Hinton friends & family! We need your help.
Many of you know that we’ve spent years volunteering our time to keep the Hinton Community House running and improving. It’s something we truly care about. Over time, we’ve been able to make a lot of meaningful updates which included new windows, appliances, ceiling and lighting, central heat and air, updated door locks, and even outdoor seating for everyone to enjoy. Every bit of that has been funded out of our own pockets and through rentals of the building.
But now, we’ve hit a point where the needs are bigger than what we can carry on our own.
Recently, we’ve taken on necessary expenses to secure the future of the Community House. Things like an updated survey and hiring a lawyer to help establish a board as we work toward becoming a 501(c)(3). On top of that, the floors are reaching the point where they need to be refurbished. These aren’t optional improvements. They’re the things that will allow the Hinton Community House to continue to exist and serve the community long-term.
And truthfully, it’s becoming more than we can financially handle alone.
For those who may not know the history: The Hinton Community House was built many years ago by a group of people who came together on nothing more than a handshake and a shared vision. They bought the land and built a space for this community to gather. That spirit is still alive today. The building continues to host birthday parties, family reunions, auctions, and all kinds of gatherings. It’s not just for Hinton residents, it’s open to anyone who needs a place to come together.
But keeping that vision alive in today’s world comes with real costs like surveys, legal work, insurance, and ongoing upkeep. And those costs have grown far beyond what they used to be.
So we’re asking for help.
If the Hinton Community House has ever meant something to you, if you’ve celebrated there, gathered there, or simply believe in having a place like it in our community, we would be incredibly grateful for your support. No donation is too small. Every dollar helps us push forward and get through this season so we can keep building toward a strong future.
Donations can be made by cash or check and dropped off at Hinton Milling with any of our office staff.
We love this community, and we believe in what this place stands for. With your help, we can make sure the Hinton Community House continues to be a place where memories are made for many years to come.
