Spain just relaxed taxes on ALL fuels to help consumers with the impacts of the war in Iran. That includes taxes on pellets, firewood and briquettes.

The Government begins the withdrawal of the VAT reduction and other taxes on electricity and gas after prices have moderated, while maintaining aid on fuels.

I was just reading a book review and it referred to a "recurring Appalachian image is the visible winter woodpile as a measure of dignity, foresight, and survival." I think a bit of that is embedded in all of us.

1,881 people took this poll in Northern California. 67% said to keep your hands off my wood stove and only 17% said they should be restricted in urban areas. 11% supported every community deciding for themselves.

For those of you who like to watch webinars after the fact, so you can fast forward, here is a gret one! 😀 It makes the case for Canada, but it's equally true in the US: heating with wood/chips/pellets relieves in the grid of stress. Its far, far more efficient that electrifying heat, if you burn biomass to make the electrify. Provincial and state level policy is vital to get federal governments to see the benefits.
