Our volunteers bustled with joy all around.
The tables were ready, the signs placed with care,
Each one sharing charities and the good work they share.

No trinkets or toys wrapped in ribbons so fine,
But gifts of compassion that truly shine.
A child may reach school, a family may eat,
Your donations bring hope that helps others’ feet.

Join us for a joyful holiday tradition where you can give the gift of giving and support nonprofits making a real difference in our community and around the world. Instead of buying another sweater or candle, choose meaningful gifts that help people in need, such as vaccinations for children in Uganda 💉🇺🇬 or a used bicycle for a student with limited resources in a developing country to help them access school and graduate 🚲🎓.

The fair will be held at Takoma Park Presbyterian Church, 310 Tulip Avenue, on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 from 12 to 4 PM. Enjoy music, silent auction, tasty treats bake sale, and a warm community atmosphere as you browse dozens of charitable gift options.

The 2025 Takoma Alternative Gift Fair needs you!

Are you looking for a way to make a difference AND strengthen our community? Volunteer to make the 2025 Alternative Gift Fair possible!

The volunteer team that put on last year’s fair is no longer available this year due to life changes. Without sufficient volunteers, we will not be able to hold the Fair this year. But the fair cannot operate without a strong team of volunteers. We are in need of people with skills and experience in event and/or project management, and marketing, and people willing to jump in with in-person tasks (and those interested in learning/gaining experience).
