To learn more, please visit www.launchcny.org LAUNCH, formerly known as the Learning Disabilities Association of Central New York (LDACNY), has been serving the Greater Syracuse community since 1985. In 2017, we became LAUNCH because we wanted people to know we focus on abilities, not disabilities. We also felt that our previous mission statement and brand name didn’t align with what we actually do. We serve much more than people who have learning disabilities. We have not changed our staff or our services. Our current programs and services are below:
Children Programs & Services:
Educational Consulting: This program is for families who need help navigating the school system. Services include (but not limited to): a. We will review your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), b. We can explain education laws, regulations and processes with you, c. We will help you advocate for yourself, d. Provide you with strategies to assist you in working with your child etc. Adult Programs & Services:
LIFE: It is a community habilitation program that provides services in the individual’s home and surrounding community. Counselors help clients recognize the importance of utilizing their strengths to compensate for challenges to develop their independent living skills. Adult Social Rec: Clients in ASR are 18 and older and live in Onondaga County. ASR is a weekly program that focuses on developing social skills as well as providing the opportunity for individuals to get involved in the community. Employment Services: Employment consultants work one-on-one with job seekers to provide individualized services and support with job searches, exploration and career development.
