In Illinois, children in foster care remain in care for an average of 34.3 months before experiencing permanency through reunification, adoption, or guardianship.

Additionally, 48% of foster children in Illinois are placed with three or more different families.

Foster Fundraiser Walk! ☀️

Our 2026 Foster FUN Walk was a great day of walking, running, sunshine, hamburgers, and so much more! The bubbles were a huge hit, and the pony rides were a special treat. Guests of all ages came for the FUN, and every Walker received a medal - - no matter how young or old. New friends were made, and all friends connected around the Path, picnic tables, and all the activity spots. The perfect weather was icing on the cake! 🫧

It's always such a sweet day filled with tradition and memories - - be sure to reserve May 1, 2027, for our next year's Walk! 🎖️

As we do that, we’re excited to announce the launch of our monthly giving community: The Story!

Every day, new chapters are being written in the lives of children through the love of foster families, strengthened by The Ruth Project. When you give, you become part of that story too. You don’t have to foster a child in your home to help change the trajectory of their life.
