The South Elgin Parks and Recreation Department recognizes there are youth in the community who are often unable to participate in recreation programs due to economic hardships. If any youth resident, ages infant to eighteen years old (still in high school), would like to apply for a scholarship, pick up a packet at the registration counter at Village Hall or call 847-622-0003 to have a packet emailed to you. All requests remain confidential. Please submit applications at least three weeks prior to the start of the program of interest. Donations for the Youth Scholarship are accepted throughout the year through the FUNdation, a 501c(3) organization. For more information, visit southelginfundation.com or call 847-622-0003.

We moved lots of pumpkins during yesterday's festival. Thank you, South Elgin!

And thanks to a bountiful harvest courtesty of Kenyon Bros Farm, we still have plenty eager for a front porch to spend the fall season. We're holding a 1-day sale at the SEBA Park pumpkin patch (151 S Water Street). Come on down between 3-6pm, Monday, October 6! Prices range from $1 to $5, and that includes some impressively hefty ones! Cash or credit card accepted.

Another Wednesday evening with heavy rain plus more rain in the forecast. While tonight's concert is canceled, we are working with the band to reschedule. Will share those details ASAP. And gotta say, those aren't the most rainstorm-friendly hairstyles we've had at Panton Mill Park. By 7pm The Shagadelics could look like The Soggydelics. So, keep your platform shoes dry tonight. The best 70s disco tribute band in Chicagoland will be back. We're due lots of great summer nights, and one of them will include dancin' at the riverside.
