As you prep for Mother’s Day this week — buying cards, planning brunch, picking out flowers — I hope you’ll pause for a moment and lift up the moms whose hearts feel a little heavier this time of year.
This is my 6th Mother’s Day without Landon. Six years of loving him from a distance. Six years of holding joy in one hand and grief in the other. Mother’s Day is still beautiful… but it’s also tender, complicated, and sometimes achingly quiet.
There are so many moms like me — moms who carry their children in memory, in stories, in the spaces where their laughter should still be. Moms who will smile on Sunday, but who will also feel the weight of what’s missing.
If you know a grieving mom, reach out. Say their child’s name. Offer a hug, a message, a moment of understanding. It doesn’t have to be perfect — it just has to be real.
And to every mom walking through Mother’s Day with an empty seat, an empty arm, or an ache that never fully leaves… I see you. I stand with you. You are still a mother, always and forever.
💛 Landon Strong. Always.
