Day 3 brought us our first session of the convention. We were able to join over 70,000 FFA members from across the country to celebrate the opening session of the convention and hear from Key Note Speaker, Scott McKain.

This afternoon we toured Fischer’s Food Grade Seeds & Farms, a third generation hybrid seed corn and soybean farm and processing plant. Fischer Food Grade supplies the highest quality food-grade white and yellow corn, soybeans, wheat, rye and barley to domestic and international end users. They raise and contract a variety of choices for our customers, including non-GMO and organic grains. Our students were able to see the bean processing plant, corn processing plant, and learned about all of the equipment used in their daily operation. -Copied from Chattooga County FFA

Last Friday we had our Fall Festival FFA Meeting! Students enjoyed winning candy at different games like pin the hat on the scarecrow, redneck ring toss, basketball shootout, and bean bag toss. A huge thank you to Mrs. Colbert and Mrs. Hernandez for making the cupcakes and brownies and for also running the cake walk!

Our FFA members are ready to go check out the College and Career Trade Expo at the 99th National FFA Convention. A big thank you to Mr. Nicholson for always welcoming our FFA chapters and taking the time to show our students the interesting antique things about the Mansion.
