With the recent identification of a New World Screwworm case in the United States, preparedness is crucial now more than ever for producers.

In response, the USDA has compiled several resources including:
-Current status updates
-U.S. response plan
-Fact sheets
-Field identification guides and more.

In the coming weeks, NCBA has plans to share some simplified resources that walk producers through the dense USDA response playbook. We will share those resources as well as they are made available.

We have made it home! We had a wonderful time visiting F.D. Roosevelt State Park, Little White House Historic Site, and Liberty Bell Pool. Our campers received two wood Jr. Badges, five Georgia State Park Activity Patches (together making one large Georgia patch), and a F.D. Roosevelt State Park frisbee (a gift from the Park Rangers!). We are so glad to be home, although our campers were begging for one more day! Thank you F.D. Roosevelt for an amazing adventure for our Into the Wild Camp.

We spent yesterday morning fishing in Delano Lake. Then we hopped in the van and went to explore Dowdell K**b. This site was a favorite picnic area for our 32nd President F.D. Roosevelt. It is also the highest elevation in the Pine Mountain Range.

We have made it safely to F.D.R. State Park and have already enjoyed a nature hike highlighting different natural resources in Georgia!

We are so proud of Haven Green-Burke for being selected as a Health and Wellness Ambassador for 2026-2027. This week she attended Ambassador Training at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. We look forward to seeing all of the wonderful programming Haven will bring into our community.

Zoey Cherry and Lottie Housch continued their training today at the University of Georgia campus. We wish them safe travels as they finish up tomorrow and head back to Chattooga. We are so excited to see what this year holds for these girls!

We are extremely proud of these two young leaders. Zoey Cherry and Lottie Housch attended a District officer training this week. Zoey Cherry will be serving as one of the Northwest District senior board directors, one of nine high school students selected from across 39 counties. Lottie Housch will be serving as Vice President of the Northwest District, also one of nine students chosen across the district. 🌟🍀🌟🫶🏻💗
