Chattooga FACS & FCCLA Everyone is part of a family, and FCCLA is the only national Career and Technical Student Organization with the family as its central focus.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Famil

y and Consumer Sciences education. Today over 160,000 members in more than 5,400 chapters are active in a network of associations in 47 states, including the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns, including teen pregnancy, parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, environment, nutrition and fitness, teen violence, and career exploration. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life -- planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication -- necessary in the home and workplace

On Wednesday October 16th, 2024 Chattooga FCCLA and HOSA attended their annual Fall Rally in Atlanta, Georgia at Six Flags. Fall Rally is an integral part of both Career Technology Student Organizations (CTSO) as it provides competition opportunities, networking and fun for all. At the Fall Rally students were able to participate in multiple competitions as well as represent their chapter. Brandon Floyd assisted Georgia FCCLA in the opening session as a Region 1 officer and Brinley Thomas assisted Georgia HOSA in their session as she serves as HOSA Region 1 representative. Both CTSOs had several students to place in events! Beydaly Gabriel-Diaz and Nyala Thurman, were recognised for the Statesman Exam. While FCCLA member Kendal Zuniga placed 3rd in sticker design and Brandon Floyd placed 3rd in Themed Speech. Overall there were a total of 24 students in attendance for a CTSO experience to remember!
