We partner with other Long Island nonprofits, who refer recipients to us.

Founded in 2015 as the first furniture bank on Long Island, Open Door Exchange (ODE) connects donated furniture to individuals and families in need, in crisis, or in a life transition, at no cost. Founded in January 2015, we are an outreach program of the Setauket Presbyterian Church in Suffolk County (Long Island), NY, that seeks to redistribute good quality furniture to those in need. We accept

donations of essential household furnishings and offer them free of charge to individuals who need assistance turning their living space into a comfortable home. Rather than being unnecessarily discarded, good furniture is given new life, benefiting both our neighbors and our environment.

Happy Earth Day from Open Door Exchange!

Today, we’re celebrating the power of community and sustainability because small actions add up to big impact. Since 2015, ODE has helped keep over 1.2 million pounds of essential furniture out of landfills by focusing on reuse, repurposing, and giving items a second life where they’re needed most.
