Providing nutritional, medical, emotional, and financial assistance to the men women and children of the village of Granbois, Haiti. Annual trips to Haiti to donate clothing, food, medication, and funds to aid their living and educate them as to how to aid themselves. The recently made Goat Project was put into action to help the children of the village learn responsibility and aid their families
by raising these goats. On our last trip to Haiti we had come back on January 11th, 2010, the day before the earthquake hit Haiti and we felt it was fate that we made it out when we did. In return, we aim to help this small forgotten village where the father of Margarett Alexandre, a registered nurse, and professor in the school of nursing at Suffolk County Community College, lived until his death in 1996. "This is to give back to my home community and help my own children to not forget where they came from and to fulfill the "pay it forward" mentality and learn how to appreciate and volunteer. "Please visit us on facebook link to view some of our pictures and planned projects for the future of Granbois and its people, especially the children. We plan to:
* Build a school within the village, so that the children do not have to walk too far.
* organize a nutrition center/ soup kitchen.
* Build an urgent care/first aid care clinic.
* Continue to reenforced the benefits of education.
* Child care- Helping the villagers in recognizing signs of malnutritio
