BARRKLI was created by Kristina Howley after many years of working with many wonderful groups in the animal rescue industry. “My initial goal was to build a small team of support for the local NYACC shelter dogs and eventually expand to help as many dogs as I can. We are now focused on dogs in high kill shelters at risk of euthanasia. One thing I have learned over the many years in rescue, is that

the most successful rescuers have accepted that we can't save them all but the ones we do save we certainly can give our all too. My motto is and will continue to be "one dog at a time". 🐶 Roger Mac
Roger Mac is a 3-month-old bundle of fun with a big personality and an even bigger heart. At 13 pounds, he’s full of puppy energy, always ready to play, explore, and make new friends. When he’s not keeping the resident dogs entertained, he’s happily soaking up attention and snuggles from his humans. He’s making great progress with potty training and is well on his way to becoming an amazing companion.

🐶 John Grey
Sweet, playful, and eager to learn, John Grey is settling into foster life like a champ. He loves following the resident dogs around, chasing his favorite Chuckit! ball, and being part of the action. His adorable little nub tail tells a story of resilience, but these days he’s focused on what puppies do best—playing, eating, and soaking up love. John Grey is still learning puppy basics and building confidence every day, making him the perfect age to grow alongside his forever family.

Meet Willow 🐾

Like the willow tree she’s named after, Willow is gentle, resilient, and beautiful - bending through life’s challenges without losing her sweet spirit.🌳💕

At just 5 months old, this sweet Tennessee girl has already been through more than a puppy should. Rescued from a high-kill shelter and separated from her sister, Willow is now waiting for the one thing she’s always deserved: a family to call her own.

Willow is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. She loves exploring the yard, chewing on sticks, making new friends, and then curling up beside you for a nap. She’s house trained, wonderful with kids, loves other dogs and cats, and has never met a stranger she didn’t like.

Because of everything she’s been through, Willow can be a little anxious when left alone at first. But with patience, love, and a little reassurance, she blossoms into the most loyal, affectionate companion.

Expected to be a large dog when fully grown, Willow has an even bigger heart. 💕

If you've been dreaming of a new best friend who will make you laugh every day and love you with his whole heart, Brutus might be your perfect match.

At just 1 year old, Brutus is a gentle soul in the making. He can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, his silly and affectionate personality shines through. Just keep swiping to see for yourself. 😍

Callie has a fun-loving spirit and will happily empty her toy box in search of her next favorite toy! 🎾🧸 But she also has a gentle, sensitive side. Loud noises like lawnmowers and leaf blowers can make her a little nervous, and she’s currently giving groundhogs plenty of personal space after a recent encounter. 😅
