Stevens Point Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 484 has a membership of 36 full time Fire Fighter/Paramedics & 1 Affilate - Plover Paramedics with 6 full time Paramedics. Stevens Point Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 484 currently has a membership of 36 full time Fire Fighters/Paramedics serving the City of Stevens Point and Portage County out of two strategically placed stations in the city. We are also affili

ated with the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin (PFFW). We have a 4 person executive board that consists of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, along with various committees. We also support numerous youth and military organizations throughout the year through our charitable foundation. The objective of the Local shall include but not be limited to: The organizing of all full time/career fire fighters; the securing of adequate wages and fringe benefits; the securing of just and reasonable hours of work and conditions of employment; the establishment of an equitable settlement of grievances; and the establishment of uniform treatment to all members without regard to race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, rank or discrimination of any form. www.stevenspointfirefighters.org

The Stevens Point Fire Fighters saw an increasing number of requests for donations received. In 2015, the Stevens Point Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation, was established as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, with current & retired members of Local 484 and the Stevens Point Fire Department management staff. The SPFFCF is made up of 7 Board of Directors who oversee the foundation who serve a 4 year alternating term and the chairman is elected by the board of directors who serves a 2 year term. The following is a list of organizations and programs we are committed to support: Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA: Fill the Boot Campaign), Operation Warm (Coats for Kids), Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation (Dream Flight), Operation Bootstrap, Project Graduation (Pacelli & SPASH), Stevens Point Youth Baseball, Point FastPitch, Community Safety Net (Fire Prevention Materials), Big Brothers Big Sisters, Guns & Hoses, Portage County Protective Services Line of Duty Death, Disaster Relief & Emergency Medical Grant, Saint Michaelโ€™s Foundation Breast Care Center, Jensen Center Youth Soccer, Shop with a Hero Campaign, and the Captain James Dorn Memorial Burn Foundation. Your Stevens Point Fire Fighters is attending the 5th District Conference in Minneapolis! Members from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota are convening to become better union officers and take their skills back to every Local that makes up the 5th District.

The morning began with speeches from General President Edward Kelly, General Secretary-Treasurer Frank Lรญma, 5th District VP Mahlon Mitchell.

Over today and tomorrow, attendees will receive training from IAFF instructors on skills like negotiation, representation and building membership engagement.
