Club Purpose: To develop optimism as a philosophy of life with specific emphasis on the development of youth in Portage County. Involvement in the Stevens Point Optimist club promotes fellowship, personal growth and support for one another. We support area youth in Portage County with direct club involvement and with financial support of youth activities.

She is kind, generous, and has a natural ability to lighten any room she walks into. She is someone others can count on, whether it's for a smile, encouragement, or simply a sense of comfort. Our club recently had the honor of presenting our Youth Recognition Award to Rylee Osborne, a 6th grade student from McKinley Center Elementary School, for her outstanding example of optimism and leadership.
Rylee's optimism shines in every area of her life. She naturally looks for the good in every situation and encourages others when they may not see it in themselves. 💛
We are proud to celebrate students like Rylee who make a difference simply by being themselves and lifting up those around them. Congratulations, Rylee!

We were honored to recognize Anaiah Butt, from Stevens Point Christian Academy, as one of our recent Youth Recognition Award recipients. Anaiah serves others by lending a hand whenever she sees the need, and lights up the room with her optimism.

Recently, we were proud to honor Leo Zillman, a 6th grade student from Plover-Whiting School, with our Youth Recognition Award.

Leo was chosen for the way he consistently approaches life with resiliency and a positive outlook. No matter the situation, he brings an uplifting attitude, shows genuine kindness and generosity toward others, and models an unwavering belief in what’s possible. 💛

Our club recently had the honor of presenting our Youth Recognition Award to Harper Walkush, a 6th grade student from Bannach Elementary, for her outstanding example of optimism and leadership.

Harper brings enthusiasm and positive energy into the classroom each day and demonstrates a strong sense of community by working well with all of her classmates. Her kindness, inclusiveness, and willingness to support others help ensure that Bannach Elementary is a safe, welcoming place for everyone. 💛
