Adapted Recreation Stevens Point Area YMCA Welcome to the Adapted Recreation Page!! Serving the under-served has always been at the heart of the Stevens Point Area YMCA.

We are a place where everyone – including those with physical and/or developmental challenges – can come together in a safe and fun environment to play sports and attend social events. We believe sports, fun, and exploring new interests are for everyone. Along with improving health, our adapted recreation programs offer the added benefit of connecting people. Our adapted programs have a beautiful

way of bringing people together – from adapted participants to staff, to other Y members, to volunteers. There is no better example of creating and maintaining a balanced spirit, mind, and body. Programs supported by United Way of Portage County.

What did TIL do today?? Our weekly group met at McDonald’s Crossroads Commons! We enjoyed breakfast and best of all a great social time with our friends! Hope to see you next week! Today the TIL group met in the Community Garden at the Y and learned about Geodes!
We all got a chance to try and break open the geode and see the sparkles inside and then they were able to take their geode with them! We also talked about how geodes are just like us, beautiful on the inside too!
Thank you for coming out and sharing your time with me!! Our TIL group meetings make my day!
See you next week Thursday, August 27, we will be meeting at the YMCA in the Mind and Body starting at 9:30am and playing…….wait for it……BINGO!!

All of our teams did a fantastic job and thank you to the coaches and parents who came out to support our teams!!

Last Thursday our TIL Group had an amazing time participating in a Downtown scavenger hunt! Our 4 groups looked for clues all around downtown and each team successfully
completed all of the tasks!
Congratulations to all of our participants and I’m looking forward to Thursday, July 30 where our next TIL adventure takes us to Call it New, Call it Antique! We will see you at the entrance at 9:30!
