Ignite Young Professionals

Ignite Young Professionals Members and their families participate in committees, networking events, volunteer projects, and leadership training opportunities.

Ignite Young Professionals is a collaborative, energetic group dedicated to personal and professional development for all young and young at heart adults connected to Portage County. Ignite Leadership Network of Portage County (Wisconsin) is a program designed to work with the next generation of community leaders between the ages of 21 and 40 (or the sufficiently young-at-heart) who want to make a

difference in their community and beyond. The group's top priority is to develop and encourage philanthropic and community involvement activities while providing peer-to-peer networking and professional development opportunities. Members are educated on key community needs as well as initiatives that work to advance the common good as well as their own professional skills.

This week we're shouting out our wonderful secretary, Kayla!

We asked Kayla, what would you say to someone thinking about joining Ignite? Kayla said, "I would tell them to go for it. Ignite is more than just networking; it’s about building real relationships, growing as a professional, and finding your place in the community. If you’re looking to meet motivated people, expand your opportunities, and get more involved, Ignite is a great place to start. You’ll get out of it what you put into it, and it’s absolutely worth it."

Please join us in welcoming Nicole, one of two new event planning co-chairs!
Nicole was born and raised in central Wisconsin and graduated from UW–Stevens Point in 2022 with a degree in Business Management. Since then, she's been working in a quality assurance role for Sedgwick Private Clients. During college, she worked as an events intern for the business school, which is where she realized she really enjoys event planning.
Nicole is excited to step back into that through this role with Ignite!

When asked what she'd say to someone considering Ignite, she says, "I’d say Ignite is one of the best ways to feel connected—both professionally and personally—in Portage County. It’s a welcoming space to meet other young professionals, build genuine relationships, and grow skills that support your career.
At the same time, you’re investing in the community you live and work in. Ignite helps keep young professionals engaged, supported, and excited about staying local. It’s meaningful, energizing, and makes Portage County feel a little more like home."

Join us this week in giving a huge shoutout to Marra Pionek, Ignite's Membership Manager and Past President!

A board member for two years, Marra says, "Ignite is one of the best and easiest ways to meet other people in this community with similar goals of being more involved in their community and connecting with others. My favorite event was the PABS bike ride. We got to meet the owners and then they took us out on bikes. It felt exclusive and like an amazing opportunity I only got because of Ignite."
