SLOW NO WAKE FOR SAFETY AROUND AQUATIC HARVESTERS. Going high speed around aquatic harvesters can cause waves that cause the load on the harvester to shift. If a full load on a harvester shifts it can cause the harvester to become unbalanced and flip. Please keep harvester drivers safe in our state and slow no wake around them.

Before you do this to your lawn, ask yourself: Do I want to swim in the runoff from it this summer? Do I want my lakes and rivers as green as my lawn? If the answer is no, then please say no to the fancy advertisements and solicitations for lawn services. Every yard in central WI drains to a lake or river, so whatever is put in your yard lands in your favorite waterbody. Thanks for helping keep our lakes healthy blue.

This is why McDill is taking on extra water. Our gates are wide open and water is going over the top wall. We are pushing through water as fast as the gates allow. The city is fully engaged with the DNR monitoring conditions. Residents should take whatever action they need to secure loose items on their shoreline.

“It’s tempting to go look, but don’t get yourself into a situation you can’t get out of. Water is very powerful.”

Dam status as of 9 pm to stop calls and emails: We are gates wide open and DNR, City and Lake District actively monitoring.

The migratory birds and wildlife on McDill depend on you to keep the sky as natural as possible. Take a walk around your yard and see if all lighting is necessary and aimed properly.

Looking for a simple way to get involved during International Dark Sky Week (April 13-20)? Take a few minutes to check your outdoor lighting and make simple changes that make a real difference.

Take the Home Outdoor Lighting Assessment and get started: https://bit.ly/4itASgt
