1 in 4 adults over 65 experience a fall each year, but most falls are preventable. This , we’re reminding older adults that staying active can help you stay strong, steady, and confident.

A few ways to help reduce your risk of falling:
🏃 Build strength and balance through regular physical activity
🏠 Reduce hazards at home, such as loose rugs and clutter
💬 Talk with your doctor about medications that may cause dizziness or affect your balance

Plus, the Y is here to help, too! Enhance®Fitness is an evidence-based group exercise program designed specifically for older adults, with exercises focused on cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and balance. EnhanceFitness is offered at select Ys across the Gateway Region. Learn more and fill out the interest form to get started: https://hubs.li/Q04y7t8k0

Falls don’t have to be part of aging. Together, we can stay strong today for a steady tomorrow. 💙

September is Su***de Prevention Month, a reminder that mental health is an important part of our overall well-being. 🫶

A simple check-in, offering a listening ear, or letting someone know they’re not alone can make a meaningful difference. This month and every month, let’s continue making conversations about mental health more normal, open, and compassionate.

If you or someone you know needs support, the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by call or text.

Mental health is how we think, feel, and act. We all have mental health! 💜

Our roots shape us. Our cultures connect us. ❤️

As we continue celebrating Welcoming Week, yesterday also marked the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month! From September 15–October 15, we celebrate the Hispanic and Latino traditions, stories, and people that strengthen our communities.

At the Y, Welcoming Week is all about bringing neighbors together, learning from one another, and creating a place where everyone feels like they belong.

Here’s to celebrating the cultures that make our communities stronger! 🙌
