It's summer break, and Dutchtown Opportunity Coalition for Youth has plans for South Side young people this summer!

Join us this Thursday at Marquette Park for free food, attendance prizes, games, and music! We'll also have info about more upcoming youth events, summer job opportunities, and tons of resources for young people ages 10–17 in Dutchtown, Gravois Park, Mount Pleasant, and Marine Villa.

Requirements:

✅ Age 60 or older
✅ City of St. Louis resident
✅ Current on real estate taxes
✅ Proof of homeownership in the senior’s name
✅ ID and proof of income for all household members age 18+
✅ Income below 300% of the federal poverty guideline ($47,880 for a single-person household)

*This contract may be financed in part or wholly through an allocation of State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds from the U. S. Department of the Treasury and the City of St. Louis Community Development Administration.

Team EC was excited to celebrate the graduation of 15 clients from our Spring 2026 Solar Panel Installation Training program this week! These wonderful performers earned their OSHA-10 certification, along with certificates of completion for Photovoltaic 100, 101, and 201!

Our work now transitions to assist them in securing careers in the rapidly growing solar energy industry! We congratulate Shantel, our Manager of Green Jobs, Tammy, our Manager of Young Adult Services, and our entire team for making sure that this was a positive experience for everyone!

Employment Connection board members Jetta, Ayush, and Chris recently spent valuable time with our clients at one of our World of Work courses. Jetta and Ayush presented an engaging training session focused on developing an executive presence and working effectively on teams, and Chris, a Relationship Manager at Great Southern Bank, presented a curriculum focused on financial empowerment.

Team EC loves it when our board members engage directly with our clients, and this was a very inspiring activity for all of us!
