We just can’t get over how much fun we had last Saturday at our season opener, “Rock The Conservatory”! ✨

A massive thank you to our very special bands, who traveled from Chicago, New York City, and Nashville to make our show happen! 🛩

We also wanted to shout out two special musicians who double dipped in our show! We celebrate the incredible, Dr. Tom Riley who not only set the tone at our lobby party with local jam band Dr. Dr., but performed with the Tommy Sagins Band as their percussionist. 🪇

We also would like to shout out our brilliant Assistant Artistic Director, �Michellina “Micky” McNaughton! Not only did she choreograph pieces for our show, but she performed with Dr. Dr., too! And then later in the evening, she delivered an absolutely sensational performance dancing with the Springfield Social Dance Club! 💃

We can’t wait for our season opener, “Rock The Conservatory”, this Saturday! ✨

We are so pleased to announce we have the fabulous Cooper Coker joining us on guest vocals! 🎤

Cooper Coker is a junior pursuing his BMA in Lyric Theatre at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.This November, he will play Don Lockwood in Singin’ in the Rain at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. 🎭

Some of his favorite credits include Guys and Dolls, Route 66, and Hairspray at The Little Theatre On The Square, and Jersey Boys at The Springfield Muni. 🐩

Cooper has been tap dancing since he was young and is excited to be back performing in his hometown again! 🥳

We are so excited to announce the incredible Kaden Wareham will be gracing the SYPG stage this Saturday! 🎉

Kaden Wareham of our very own Springfield, IL, is a student at Lindenwood University pursuing a BA in dance. 😎

He began his training at Dance Creations Dance Studio. As a member of the DCDS competition team, Kaden has earned a scholarship from the Broadway Dance Center in New York City, many awards, and was chosen to be a Protege Dancer for Kids Artistic R***e, based in Las Vegas. 🕺

Kaden is versatile in dance as well as choreographing in many disciplines including Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Musical Theater. 🎭

For the past year he has been working with dance professors and professional choreographers on pieces used in dance concerts, shows, and conventions across the country. 🪩

We are so excited to invite you, this Monday, August 24th from 5:00PM-7:00PM to The Grant Conservatory of Music & Dance for our SYPG Academy Open House! 💗

Join us to meet the teachers, ask questions, and get in the mood to dance! 🩰

The dance boutique will be open! Brand new and gently used dance attire will be available for purchase to get ready for class. 🛍

Well, kind of! This piano was certified decommissioned by the piano experts! 🎹

This got us thinking, what if instead of having this piano waste away to dust, we turned it into an evolving art piece? 🤔

To celebrate our 5th Rock The Conservatory at The Grant Conservatory of Music & Dance, we turned this musical instrument into a prop for our promo shoot. Next, these pieces are being sent off to local artists as raw materials for their art and jewelry! 🎨

We can’t wait to celebrate local artistry with you through dance and music, Saturday, August 29th!

It’s not Rock The Conservatory without Tommy Sagins! 😎

We are so excited to have him for his fifth time as our Music Director for "Rock The Conservatory"! 🎉

Tommy Sagins is a Chicago-based drummer, composer, bandleader, educator, and business-owner hailing from Sherman, IL! This versatility has allowed to Tommy to build a diverse career of performing, teaching, and recording. He is an accompanist for The Joffrey Ballet and Columbia College Chicago. Tommy is also a drummer for Trinity Academy of Irish Dance, most recently seen performing with them at the World Music and Dance Festival in Marseille, France.🥁
