Helix Human Services Helix Human Services provides trauma-informed therapeutic and educational services. That has not, nor will it ever, change.

Since the Civil War, Helix Human Services (formerly the Children’s Study Home) has been dedicated to a single purpose: finding ways to help people who have experienced trauma in their lives. We are best known for the services we provide to children and youth who are referred to us by state agencies. Over the years, we have expanded our programs and services to include adults and families. At Helix Human Services, we do everything in our power to help make traumatized kids, families, and adults whole again and we will always be here when people in crises need us. We know we must provide a continuum of care—one that is built on a foundation of trust and driven by purpose—and always striving to do and be better.

RiseUp is coming to Mass Appeal on WWLP! Today, Yamilca Nogué, Chief Relations Officer at Helix Human Services and Shannon Mumblo, our RiseUp Morning Keynote Speaker, joined WWLP’s Mass Appeal to talk about RiseUp: From Healing to Thriving.

They shared what attendees can expect on October 8 and why bringing conversations around trauma-informed care, healing, resilience, and hope into our community is so important. RiseUp brings together professionals, caregivers, educators, community partners, and others to learn from one another, build meaningful connections, and strengthen the ways we support individuals and families throughout our community.

Tune in to Mass Appeal on October 1 at 11:00 AM to hear more from Yamilca and Shannon and get a preview of what’s ahead at RiseUp 2026!

A special thank you to Mass Appeal and WWLP for having us and helping us share the RiseUp mission with our community.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone on October 8 at the MassMutual Center!

Helix Human Services Chief Relations Officer Yamilca Nogué was honored to be invited as the guest speaker for the Van Wart DCF Area Office’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.

Centered around the theme “Unidos Somos Más,” Yamilca shared pieces of her personal and professional journey, her Puerto Rican heritage, and the importance of culture, empathy, connection, representation, and community in the work we do with children and families.

We are grateful to our partners at DCF for the warm welcome and for creating a meaningful space to celebrate Hispanic heritage, share stories, and strengthen the relationships that connect our communities.

Together, we are more. Unidos Somos Más.
