Prevention education can be implemented in different forms; each one evidence-based and proven effective in various capacities. Operation Snowball, Inc. encourages each OS Chapter across Illinois to find prevention materials, activities, speakers, that fit the needs of your community. Join OS, Inc. and Heather Schultz for our first Statewide In-Person training of the 2026-2027 school year. Attendees will dive into what it means to handle the tough stuff and learn real-world solutions for when obstacles come their way.

"Handle the Tough Stuff" will be held October 27th, at Columbia High school (77 Veterans Pkwy, Columbia, IL.). Admission is free for any accredited OS Chapter & OS Chapter Leader - for any non OS member there is a charge of $25/person. October is Substance Use Prevention Month as prevention education is a key pillar for OS, Inc.; the OS Youth Advocates decided to spread awareness in their communities and provide youth insight on the matter. The OS Youth Advocates and members of their schools for the reason "why” they choose to stay substance free.

OS, Inc. is built on empowering youth leaders to take action and improve the communities around them. The OS Youth Advocates and their peers are ready to leave an impact this Substance Use Prevention Month.

The next OS, Inc. Statewide training features speaker Matt Kovatchis. Attendees will learn about strengthening their emotional intelligence and what it means to lead in order to create genuine connections.

“Becoming a Heart-Led Leader: Leading with Emotional Intelligence” will be hosted November 5th at Glenbrook North High School (2300 Shermer Rd, Northbrook, IL.). Admission is free for all accredited OS Chapters and OS Leaders – admission for non-accredited OS members is $25/person. All students who want to attend this training must be accompanied by an adult from their Chapter. Is your OS Chapter looking for new programming ideas to incorporate this year? Maybe you’re looking for new social media content ideas? The OS, Inc. Awareness Event Database is officially live and available on the OS Member’s Portal. This resource contains the dates and basic programming ideas of a variety of awareness events for your Chapter to observe, incorporate in programming, and/or highlight on social media.

The OS, Inc. Awareness Event Database can be found on the OS, Inc. Member’s Portal and is available to all accredited OS Chapters, student leaders, and adult mentors. Make sure you check out this new resource on the OS Members’ Portal and let us know if you need help logging in or have any questions!

Activities Database, which is now available on the OS Members’ Portal. This Database has a variety of activities, their instructions, lists of materials, and even debrief questions to help guide your Chapter through the implementation of these activities into your OS programming!
