We hate having to share an update like this from our friends and partners at The GLO Center.
🚨 URGENT COMMUNITY ALERT 🚨
An individual who is not affiliated with The GLO Center has been visiting local businesses, claiming to collect donations on GLO’s behalf.
This person is using GLO’s real tax-exempt documentation and an outdated mailing address to make the request appear legitimate. They have reportedly requested cash, gift cards, merchandise and other donations for a supposed fundraising event.
The GLO Center is not conducting this fundraiser, and this individual does not have permission to solicit donations on our behalf.
Tattoo Omega contacted us after giving this person money under the belief that the donation was supporting GLO. The individual claimed to have collected approximately $1,400 in raffle donations from other businesses. Thank you to Tattoo Omega for alerting us and allowing us to share their experience.
A police report has been filed.
Please do not give cash, gift cards, merchandise or other donations to anyone claiming to represent GLO without first confirming the request directly with our team.
If someone approaches you:
⚠️ Do not provide money or donations.
⚠️ Keep any forms, messages, receipts or surveillance footage connected to the solicitation.
⚠️ Contact The GLO Center directly to verify the request.
⚠️ If you have already donated to this individual, please contact GLO and the Springfield Police Department.
Please share this alert with local businesses and organizations. We want to prevent anyone else from being taken advantage of and make it clear that these actions do not support The GLO Center or our community.
