Celebrating Cammie Storm, our 2026 Kathryn Munzinger Advocate of the Year Awardee!

The Kathryn Munzinger Outstanding Advocate of the Year Award is named after PFLAG National Board Member and former PFLAG Springfield/SWMO President Kathy Munzinger. This award recognizes a member of the LGBTGQ+ community or an ally who has made a significant difference in making the world a more caring, just, and affirming place. It’s one way we recognize the champions in our community.

Cammie exemplifies what it means to be an Advocate and we are thrilled to have her inducted into this elite group at our PFLAG Scholarship and Awards Reception on April 19th! We would love to see you there!

From Stonewall to today's ongoing fights for equality, women have always been at the forefront. That same courage lives on in the women leading affirming faith communities today. They're creating spaces where q***r people can show up fully, safely, and authentically.

To wrap up Women's History month, we wanted to take the time to shout out some of our clergical leaders here in Springfield. So many LGBTQIA+ people want to find a church where they can feel welcomed. Jen Simmons with National Avenue Church, Stephanie Scott-Huffman at St. John's Chapel UCC, Tracey Wolff at Grace United Methodist Church, Emily Bowen-Marler at Brentwood Christian Church, and Michelle Scott-Huffman at the Unitarian Church of Springfield, thank you for making your services inclusive and for engaging the q***r community. We'd also like to take a moment to shout out Ekklesia Campus Ministries, and The Venues.

We see you. We appreciate you.
