Fatu's father kicked her out at 11 years old.

Trafficked, alone, and trapped in a life she never chose — the road ahead looked dark. But one day, she heard about Jesus.

The Spirit led her to Al-Masih Worship Center, an Urban Tribes church in West Africa. The moment she walked through the doors, she said: "This is home."

She began growing in Christ — joining a women's group, diving into Bible study, and being discipled by a community that saw her worth.

Today, Fatu is married, a mother, and a faithful member of her church's Evangelism Team. And in one of the most beautiful moments of redemption — she encountered a man from her past at church. They were both believers now, sharing with each other what God had done in their lives.

This is what Urban Tribes is about. Reaching the overlooked. Welcoming the broken. Watching Jesus make all things new.

Members of our Urban Tribes team are gathering May 27–29 in Durban, South Africa for the Urban Tribes Conference. We're believing God for big things!

When missionaries, church planters, and ministry leaders come together, something powerful happens. Strategies sharpen. Vision expands. Connections are made that only God could have orchestrated.

We're asking Him for exactly that — divine appointments, fresh insight, and a renewed fire to reach Africa's cities with the gospel.

Would you pray with us as we head to Durban?

Our most recently launched project! Urban Tribes Coffee Co. is a business as mission creating gospel presence in the city, alongside Multiply Windhoek, a brand new church plant.

🌍 Kampala, Uganda & Abidjan, Ivory Coast
New church plants are launching in two of Africa's most dynamic cities — and you can be the one to go.

🌍 Durban, South Africa

Would you pray for Urban Tribes?
Africa is the most rapidly urbanizing continent in the world. As cities grow, AGWM Africa missionaries are building relationships, living, and working among urban communities across the continent. It's meaningful work, and it needs your prayers.

🙏 Divine connections: that God would open the right doors with the right people in each city our missionaries serve.
🙏 Spiritual protection: for church planters, business as mission workers, and volunteers on the front lines.
🙏 Favor with governments: as many of our projects navigate visas, business permits, and the pursuit of permanent locations.
🙏 New team members: that God would call and send the right people to join this work across Africa.

"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." — Luke 10:2

Africa is the most rapidly urbanizing continent in the world.

As cities grow, new communities are forming of people who are shaped by global influences. What emerges is demographic that's beliefs and values are formed by social media, international voices, and modern practices. This is why we have Urban Tribes.

This is a new and unprecedented population, and our missionaries are meeting them where they are — embedding themselves in the heart of urban communities across Africa. They're engaging the people and places shaping the future of entire regions.

Today, that looks like 7 church plants, 4 business as mission projects, across 9 cities in Africa. And this year there are two new projects launching in two new cities.

The harvest is growing. So is the work.

Do you have a heart for the next generation?

In Africa, "the next generation" isn't a small group — it's the majority. With over half the population under the age of 18, and many more under 35, the opportunity to invest in young people is enormous.

Students, children, and young adults are shaping the future of their communities right now. And across the continent, there is a growing need for people willing to step in, disciple, and walk alongside them.

Right now, there are two open doors to be part of this:

🇲🇿 Maputo, Mozambique — Join the Launch Team for Campus Ministry, helping plant and grow a movement among university students.

🇰🇪 Nairobi, Kenya — Step into On-ramp: a 90 day experience that is designed to give individuals a chance to experience what life as a missionary could be like, while serving alongside Africa Children's & Teens ministry.

Designed for those exploring a call to missions, this trip offers a real look at life and ministry on the field—creating space to learn, serve, and discern what God may be leading you into.
Come see the impact. Come ask questions. Come be part of what God is doing.

Africa’s Children and Teens—a ministry resource of AGWM Africa—recently had the opportunity to be part of the Assemblies of God NextGen Leaders Conference.

We’re grateful to have connected with so many leaders who are passionate about reaching the next generation. Through meaningful conversations, we were able to share the heart behind ACT, the vision for Africa, and the growing need to invest in children and teens across the continent.

This year brought some of the most impactful conversations yet—along with the opportunity to give away two 2026 Vision Trips to Ivory Coast. We’re excited for those who will soon experience firsthand what God is doing through the African local church.

🙏 Thank you to everyone who is helping us to see a healthy church within walking distance of every child and teen across Africa.

University campuses are strategic spaces where future leaders are being shaped — and where the Gospel is taking root in powerful ways.

Across campuses in Botswana, Senegal, and Mozambique, missionaries are building relationships, pouring into students, and helping raise up a generation of leaders who will influence their communities and the marketplace. At the same time, new families are preparing to step into this work in places like Madagascar and South Africa.

🙏 Join us in praying:
• For missionaries serving university students across Africa
• For new workers preparing to be sent
• For students to encounter Jesus and become leaders who impact their communities

Campus ministry across Africa is growing through teams committed to reaching and discipling university students.

Matt and Andrea Marlin have spent over a decade investing in this work in Mozambique. Twelve years ago, they helped start A Palavra — a ministry focused on reaching and discipling students. Today, that same ministry is led by local leaders, continuing to grow and expand its impact.

Now, the Marlins are helping train new AGWM missionaries to engage in campus ministry across the continent — equipping others to step in and build alongside teams like this one.

Together, this is what multiplication looks like: leaders raising up leaders, and teams working side by side to reach the next generation.

🙏 Pray for continued growth in campus ministries and for more workers to be trained and sent out.

Kyle and Porscha Coffman and their two children are serving in Senegal, reaching university students with the hope of the Gospel.

After being trained for campus ministry at a launch team in Mozambique, they are now investing in the next generation — walking with students, building community, and helping raise up leaders who will impact their nation.

What happens on campus doesn’t stay on campus. The students being discipled today are the leaders of tomorrow.

🙏 Pray for the Coffman family as they faithfully serve, and for students in Senegal to encounter Jesus and grow into leaders who influence their communities.
