❤️ THE HEART OF 186 | MEMBERS MAKING A DIFFERENCE

📚 Eight years of collaboration. Countless opportunities for student learning!

On October 1 and 2, SEA members Susan Pennington, Jodi Mitts, Lisa Beebe, and Beth Martin took Lincoln Magnet School's 8th graders to the Illinois State Library to conduct research for their National History Day papers!

This experience gives students the opportunity to explore research beyond the classroom while developing skills they'll carry with them throughout their education.

Even more impressive? 🎉 This collaboration between Lincoln Magnet School and the Illinois State Library is now in its 8th year!

It's a wonderful example of how our SEA members create meaningful learning opportunities and connect students with resources throughout our community.

👏 Help us celebrate Susan, Jodi, Lisa, and Beth for continuing this tradition and making these experiences possible for their students!

❤️🤍💙 The Heart of 186 is our people.

Stronger United.

First Student school buses continue to arrive late to stops and school. They consistently deliver our students to school and home late across SPS186, disrupting the educational process and complicating life for parents and school staff.

“I’ll just admit that transportation has been tough to start this year,” superintendent Terrance Jordan said, adding he and business manager Miller have been meeting with First Student.
