"Austin Lee Lockwood was one of the kindest young men with the biggest heart you would ever meet. His beautiful smile and brown eyes would light up a room and warm your heart all at the same time. To know Austin is to love Austin. He would do anything for anyone. The bond Austin has with his sister and brother is like no other. His love for his friends and family is unquestionable. We will love him and miss him forever.

Our lives have tragically changed, losing Austin has taken a devastating toll on all of us. Drunk driving is a 100% preventable crime. Drinking and getting behind the wheel is not a mistake, it is a choice.

We walk for you, Austin. Love you forever "

~Team Austin

Best friends don’t let best friends make dangerous decisions ☀️🐾

Whether your summer sidekick has two legs or four, the rule stays the same: look out for each other. Beach days, lake days, concerts, late nights - make a safe plan to get home before the fun starts.

Real friends make sure everyone gets home safe 💛

WASHINGTON (June 4, 2026) – Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is deeply disappointed by last night’s vote to pass Rep. Michael Cloud’s amendment to defund implementation of the bipartisan HALT Drunk Driving Act, a landmark law that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) estimates...

"Maddie Kruse and four other girls, along with the grandmother of one of the girls, were all heading to Florida on a Sunday for a birthday beach trip. They were traveling along Highway 78 near Olive Branch, MS, when they were rear-ended by a man traveling at a high speed at 6:30 am. Maddie and her friend, Rachel Lynch, died because of this collision.

The driver had a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.14—almost double the legal limit. His 6 previous DUIs in the state of Mississippi were all processed as first offenses. The crash that killed Maddie and her friend Rachel would be his 7th DUI.

We work with MADD to share Maddie’s story and remind the public that drinking and driving should not mix."

Trained volunteers and student interns assist our court monitoring team by observing and documenting impaired driving cases to help hold the justice system accountable and ensure justice for victims.
