Based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Jesus Christ Superstar follows the last week of Jesus’ life and explores the relationships and struggles among Jesus, his disciples, his followers, and the Roman Empire.

Told entirely through song, the iconic 1970s rock score by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber features unforgettable numbers including “Superstar,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and “Gethsemane.”

Join us tonight, August 15, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Creamery Arts Center (411 N Sherman Pkwy, Springfield, MO 65802)!

If you’re planning to audition, or even thinking about it, come get one last chance to prepare! Ages 13+ and no experience necessary.

We’ll work on music, dance, and callback material to help get you ready for auditions. Bring your audition song and sheet music or an instrumental track if you have one. If not, we’ve got you covered!

Wear something you can move in, bring some water, and come have fun with us. Auditions start TOMORROW!

Audition time is finally here!
Let’s answer some of the questions we’ve been getting!

• Do I need to be a person of color to audition?
Not at all! We encourage people of all races and ethnicities to audition for all roles.

• Can I sing a ca****la?
While it’s not preferred, yes, you may audition a ca****la. However, if you are invited to callbacks, you will be expected to sing with accompaniment.

• Do I have to attend an audition workshop?
No! Our workshops are completely optional and are simply there to help you feel prepared going into auditions.

• Are auditions open?
Yes! Auditions are open to the community.

• Are there roles for all ages?
JCS is open to performers ages 13 and up. However, due to the mature themes and content of the show, special consideration will be given when casting younger performers.

• Are virtual auditions accepted?
Yes! If you’re unable to attend in person, virtual auditions will be accepted. Please email your audition video to [email protected]

• Do I have to attend both audition days?
No! Choose whichever date works best for you.

Join us August 16 OR 17 from 6–9 PM at The Creamery Arts Center. Auditions are come and go style, so attend the date of your choice!

The Ensemble will play a variety of roles throughout the show, including disciples, priests, soldiers, lepers, merchants, rioters, reporters, and more. The ensemble will also include featured singers and offstage vocalists, with opportunities for performers of varying vocal and movement strengths.

There is a place for all kinds of performers in this ensemble!
