So many cute faces today! We kicked off the weekend by administering 182 vaccines for pets. 😎

Our next vaccine clinic will be on Saturday, October 24th and the appointments will be available for scheduling on Monday, October 12th. Here are few snapshots from today. 🧡

Join our team!! We have two new openings. This post is for a Recovery Assistant but we will have a Veterinary Assistant position opening soon.

**We Are Hiring a Recovery Assistant part-time.**

Our surgical team performs approximately 45 surgeries daily, and the Recovery Assistant is an essential part of this process. Candidates must maintain a positive attitude and be effective team players in a fast-paced work environment.

**Main Duties:**
- Monitor patients post-operatively.
- Ensure that the recovery areas are clean, stocked, and organized.
- Clean and sanitize kennels and carriers.
- Administer vaccinations and fluids as directed by the veterinarian post-operatively.
- Keep medical records up to date and chart treatments.
- Assist with instrument sterilization as needed.
- Print treatment paperwork and assist with checking-in clients during morning drop-off times.

This position requires heavy lifting, carrying animals, and standing for extended periods.

The typical work hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with one Saturday each month from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. We are closed on all holidays, including the week of July 4th, and we have a holiday break of approximately seven days during the weeks of Christmas and Thanksgiving.

**Qualifications:**
- Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter is preferred; spay/neuter experience is a plus.
- Strong animal handling skills and comfortable working with animals of all sizes and temperaments.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and sterilization protocols is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Flexibility, reliability, and a strong commitment to animal welfare.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary assistant certification or relevant training is preferred.

The hourly wage ranges from $14 to $15.

Our first Berryville shuttle went great! Cassie kicked things off at 7:30 AM, loading up pets like a pro and helping our rural community get their furry friends to the clinic, then returning them this afternoon. A huge shoutout to our hardworking team—great job, everyone!

Are you looking to get your kitty spayed or neutered but need a RIDE to the clinic? We’ve got you covered!

We’ll be offering a transport service on Thursday, September 17. We’ll pick up your cat at 7:30 a.m. and return them around 4:00 p.m. at the Walmart in Berryville.

**Please remember:**
- Schedule your cat's surgery appointment online beforehand.
- All cats must be in a clean carrier labeled with both your name and your cat's name.
- If your cat is feral and cannot be touched, please use a trap.

Vaccine & Microchip Clinic: Sept. 26, 2026. The appointment schedule is OPEN! To sign up, please click the link below. A non-refundable deposit is required, but this deposit amount will be credited toward your services at the appointment. Keep in mind that the vaccine clinics are exclusively for pets that are already spayed or neutered, (unless they are not old enough). We will provide vaccines during the spay/neuter surgery appointment.

Meet Snax! The Goodest Boy! 🫶
Our buddy Snax had a snack-attack
when his testicle got caught up in a patio chair’s grip. Unfortunately, his testicle got sliced open—ouch! Snax had an emergency visit to the VEG ER clinic, and he was referred to us at Spay Arkansas for neuter surgery. He was a very sick boy, but thanks to our incredible team, he’s now on the mend. 🥰

This discounted care was made possible by Payton’s Bully Fund, but we need your help! The fund is running low. Payton’s Bully Fund has helped 21 bully dogs this year.
