Good morning 💜

Our roof at Compassion House sustained significant hail damage during recent storms, and after multiple roofing companies assessed the damage, we were told the roof needs to be replaced immediately.

The full replacement cost is approximately $33,000, and after insurance, we still need nearly $20,000 to move forward with repairs.

This home shelters pregnant and parenting teens and their babies, so these repairs are urgent in order to maintain a safe and stable home for the families living here.

We are incredibly grateful to have already reached 50% of our goal.

Amanda’s Story | PART 7

“Would you do it again?”

Her answer is immediate.

“Yes. I would do it again.”

People have asked Amanda if she wishes she could go back and have her first son later in life.

“I wouldn’t have had THAT son if I had waited. Maybe we were meant to grow together.”

Today, that little boy is almost 30 years old.
He served in the Army, is married, and has children of his own.

And he’s not the only success story in Amanda’s family.

All four of Amanda’s children graduated.
One joined the Air Force.
One became a welder.
One is pursuing art school.

“Has life been hard? Definitely. Worth it? Yes.”

Amanda’s Story | PART 6

Sometimes Amanda looks at old pictures and can hardly believe how far they’ve come.

At 13, she couldn’t see what her future would become.

She only knew she had to keep going.

Now, nearly 30 years later, she sees more than survival.
She sees healing.
Family.
Growth.
A life that kept unfolding one step at a time.

“What feels overwhelming right now won’t always feel that way.” That’s what Amanda hopes current residents understand. “There is something better ahead.”

Amanda’s Story | PART 5

“My son and I… we’re growing together.”

One of the most powerful parts of Amanda’s story is that motherhood didn’t end her life. It changed it.

Sometimes love becomes the reason someone keeps going.
