⚡ Photography Tip ⚡

Great photography starts with observation.

Last night, I spent time watching the storm and waiting for the right moment. Sometimes the best photos come from being patient and paying attention to what's happening around you.

For those curious about how this image was captured, I used a tripod, a shutter speed between 6–10 seconds, and an aperture of around f/11.

Don't have a DSLR? That's okay. You can still practice observation, timing, and creativity with a phone camera. Photography is less about the gear and more about learning to see the world differently.

For kids interested in product photography, your photo should still show emotion. The difference is you are showing the emotion the brand or client wants people to feel, not just your own.

That means learning to understand other people’s emotions, so you can create photos your client will love.

Tip: If you are using natural light, place the product near a window and watch how the light hits it.

Before taking the photo ask yourself:
What do I want people to feel when they see this? 📸

I took this photo in 2016, one year after I got my first camera.

That morning was really foggy. The fog made everything feel quiet and a little mysterious. The path just disappears into the fog and you can’t see where it goes.

When I edited the photo, I made most of it black and white, but I kept the green in the trees so they would stand out.

Photography is not just about taking pictures of things. It is about showing how a moment feels.

Today is foggy just like the day I took this photo. That makes it a great time to go outside and take pictures.

Kids, grab a camera or even your phone and take a photo of something cool.

If you miss the fog, that’s okay. Go take a picture of something interesting anyway and tag Kidz N Cameras. We would love to see what you create. 📷
