Life can be brutal. And beautiful. Sometimes in the very same breath.

That tension is a big part of why Amy Butler + Megan Taylor built Gap Relief.

They believe people deserve spaces where the hard things can be named without shame, healing doesn’t have to happen alone, and hope isn’t something we have to manufacture before we’re ready.

It’s also why Gap Relief has always been about more than therapy. It’s about helping people - and the people who care for people - feel supported, equipped, and seen.

Meet Amy + Megan. Two leaders who care deeply about creating more room for healing in Northwest Arkansas and beyond.

👉 Follow along as we introduce more of the people behind Gap Relief.

Before we talk any more about what we do, we want you to know who we are. 👋

Because behind the therapy rooms, trainings, programs, debriefings, community work, and big ideas at Gap Relief is a group of very real humans.

Humans who care deeply about this work.
Who believe people deserve to be seen, heard, and suported.
Who know helping can be heavy.
Who laugh. A lot!
And who are deeply committed to walking alongside people through the brutal AND the beautiful.

Over the next few weeks, we're pulling back the curtain and introducing you to the humans of Gap Relief: their why, what they want you to know about mental health, and a few things you probably never needed to know about them. 😂

Stick around. You're going to like these people.

You don’t have to know exactly what kind of support you need before you reach out.

Care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Counseling, couples & family therapy, bodywork, and neurofeedback are just a few of the ways support can look here.

We also offer additional approaches like intensives, play therapy, Enneagram-informed work, and more - because what helps one person may look completely different from what helps another.

You bring what you’re experiencing. We can help you explore what kind of support might fit. 🤍

Remember Aubrey? 💛

In our last reel, she introduced us to play therapy. Today, she's sharing more about who she works with and the challenges she helps them navigate.

Play therapy isn't just about playing. And it's not only for little kids.

Aubrey works with kids and teens navigating trauma, adoption and attachment, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, big emotions, and difficulty with self-regulation.

She often sees kids who seem to go from 0 to 100 and aren't yet sure how to regulate those big feelings on their own.

Through art, sand tray, games, creative activities, and other therapeutic approaches, Aubrey helps clients express what may be difficult to put into words, process their experiences, and develop healthy coping and regulation skills.

She also works alongside parents and caregivers, helping them better understand what their child may be communicating through their behavior and how they can support them outside of therapy.

As Aubrey demonstrates through her practice: when words aren't enough, there are other ways to be heard. 💛

Today, our hearts are with the Siloam Springs Fire Department as they grieve the loss of Captain Kyle Huffman. 🤍

To his family, friends, fellow firefighters, and the entire Siloam Springs community - we see you, we are thinking of you, and we are holding you close in this loss.

Loss like this ripples through a community, and grief can look different for everyone. In the days ahead, we hope there are spaces to simply be together - to share stories when the words come, to sit quietly when they don’t, and to make room for grief in whatever form it takes.

And to our first responder community especially: you spend so much of your lives showing up for others. We hope you feel others surrounding and caring for you, too.

Siloam Springs Fire Department, we are standing with you. 🤍

Big feelings don’t always come with big words. 💭

The back-to-school season can bring a lot of change, and with change can come big feelings. Anxiety. Grief. Frustration. Sadness. Trouble regulating emotions.

Play therapy helps children communicate and process those feelings in ways that feel natural to them. Through play and other activities, they can explore what may be difficult to put into words while also learning tools to help regulate their emotions.

Check out this quick clip from Gap Relief’s play therapist, Aubrey Dosa, as she explains her work with children, adults, and parents to help families navigate what’s underneath the big feelings.

If you notice your child is struggling, please reach out to schedule a consultation with Aubrey at 479-222-0663. 💛

What if the patterns we see in ourselves are only the beginning of the story?

In this first look at the Enneagram, Alex Fittin - Self-Awareness Coach at Gap Relief, introduces us to this personality typing system and why it can be such a helpful tool on a healing journey.

The Enneagram doesn't just describe WHAT we do. It can help us explore the WHY behind it: the motivations, fears, and patterns that influence how we respond, relate, and move through the world.

Stay tuned for more from Alex as we take a deeper look at the Enneagram and what it can teach us about ourselves.

Want to go deeper? Alex offers individual Enneagram sessions, as well as trainings for businesses and organizations looking to build greater self-awareness and understanding within their teams. Contact our office at 479-222-0663 to learn more.

Difference makers in action!

What an incredible day. Because of every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, donor, and supporter who showed up, our Charity Golf Tournament became so much more than a day on the course - it became an investment in the Helpers who care for our communities every single day.

To our amazing VIPs, event sponsors, in-kind donors, and volunteers: THANK YOU for believing in Gap Relief's mission and making this event possible. We truly couldn't do it without you.

Here's to the memories we made... and to doing it all again next year. ⛳💛
