🍂 Meet Mary — A Sweet Senior with So Much Love to Give! ❤️
Mary is a gentle, 10-year-old girl who loves being close to her people. She's a bit of a Velcro dog and enjoys knowing her favorite humans are nearby, but she's also perfectly happy snuggling up on her blanket for a cozy nap.
Mary is a lovely walking companion! She enjoys meeting people along the way, but she's always ready to continue her walking adventure. 🐾
Mary has some age-related mobility challenges, so she appreciates taking things at her own pace. A leisurely stroll, a comfy spot to rest, and time spent with her people are right up her alley.

🎃 Maya is a soon-to-be 9-year-old Labrador Retriever with a sweet, eager-to-please personality. She loves attention, enjoys spending time with her people, and looks forward to her daily walks.
Maya’s nose is always hard at work, following the scent trails of rabbits, and she’ll happily chase a squirrel if given the chance. She loves exploring her fenced yard and enjoys playing with her 3-year-old foster Labrador brother. 🍁
Like many Labs, Maya has a bit of selective hearing now and then, but unlike most, she isn’t especially food-motivated. She’s working on reaching a healthy weight and enjoys staying active.
When it’s time to relax, Maya is happiest cuddling with her people, though she’s equally content curling up in her own bed. She’s a wonderful overnight companion, happily sleeping eight hours or more.
Maya would make a loving companion for a family looking for a gentle, affectionate dog who enjoys both adventure and quiet time. Maya is being fostered in Vero Beach, visit SSLR.org to apply 🎃

Greetings, Ladies and Gents! Sunne here, a friendly, cheerful guy, 10.5 years of age with a yellow coat. I weigh 124 pounds and I'm working on trimming down a little. I get along well with other dogs of all sizes and don't bother the kitties. My guardian passed away suddenly, and I was alone and afraid in the shelter until I was rescued in the nick of time. Now I'm in my comfy foster home in Largo, looking forward to meeting you. My foster mom is working on getting my coat back into shape and I'm eating a healthy diet. My house manners are top notch and I ride well in the car. I love to snuggle and be close to people so I'd love to be your buddy. I am being fostered in Largo, go to SSLR.org to apply!

We’re excited to introduce our beautiful new Sunshine State Labrador Rescue brochures!

A BIG thank you to volunteers Pat and Beverly, who picked up the brochures from the printer in Clearwater, to be distributed by the regional volunteers STATEWIDE! Thanks to Mark Turner for the great design.

Our brochures tell the SSLR story ofwho we are, what we do, and how you can help Labradors in need. Whether you want to foster, adopt, volunteer, donate, or simply spread the word, there’s a place for you in the SSLR family.💙🐕

🐾 Phoenix has a whole village cheering her on! ☀️💙

A huge THANK YOU to the volunteers and partners who are helping this pretty girl on her journey to finding her forever home.

Today, we welcomed Foster Dad Lou, who picked up Phoenix and brought her home. Lou and his wife, Randi, are new SSLR fosters — and experienced Lab lovers. We’re so happy to have them on the SSLR team! 🐾

And it took a village to get Phoenix here:

💙 Bernie brought Phoenix from the Wildwood transport to Lewis in New Port Richey.
💙 Lewis and Pat helped her get comfortable and made sure she got to our veterinary partner.
💙 Our shelter partner in Walton County helped get Phoenix started on her journey.
💙 Sue and her crew at Help Four Paws Transport pitched in to help make it all happen.

This is what rescue looks like — lots of people, lots of coordination, and one very lucky Lab at the center of it all. ❤️🐾

Now Phoenix gets to settle in, decompress, and let Foster Mom Randi and Foster Dad Lou show her just how good life can be.

Chevy has officially traded his foster home for a forever family! ❤️🐾

Please help us congratulate Dawn and Andy Toscano, Chevy’s new parents! We have a feeling this handsome boy is going to be VERY spoiled ( check out photo in the first comment!) Honestly, he deserves every bit of it. 💙

A huge thank-you to his wonderful foster, Diane Brown, for loving Chevy, caring for him, and helping him get ready for his happily-ever-after.

Once abandoned and tied to a tree, Oliver’s story has taken a beautiful turn. 🌳➡️🏡

Now, he has a new name — CURLEY — and a mom who thinks he is absolutely perfect! 🐾❤️

Vicki was looking for a high-energy boy, and Curley is exactly what she was hoping for. He reminds her so much of the dog she recently lost that she knew right away he was the one!⚡️

From being tied to a tree to being Vicki’s perfect boy… this is what rescue is all about. ☀️
