Congratulations to Manju Bijlani and the entire team at the Kumon Math and Reading Center on their 15th Anniversary!
Over the past decade and a half, this center, located at 134 Main Street South Suite 41-D, has been a cornerstone for youth development and local employment in the community.
More than 1,000 students have gone through the program, with more than 65% finishing above their approved grade levels.
The center has also provided valuable first-job experiences to approximately 150 team members, including local high school and college students. Many of their current staff of 19 are actually former Kumon students themselves.
Through 30-minute Math and English sessions running Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM, they help students build confidence, social interaction skills, and perseverance to become independent learners.
The Southbury center has also just launched their new Senior Brain Power program. This initiative brings their globally recognized methods—Kumon operates in over 60 countries—to our local seniors during new morning sessions.
Thank you, Manju, for 15 years of dedication to Southbury's students and families. Here is to many more years of helping our community recognize its full potential!
