The Family courts are getting worse with each passing day. Recently, one of my disabled clients was severely abused in the family courts by the judge and the soon-to-be ex and their attorney. This triggered chest pain which led her to the emergency room. While in the ER this. soon-to-be-ex texted my client, saying "You should probably stay committed to whatever hospital you're in. You're not going to be around the kids until a dr deems that you're well enough." This is psychological abuse and the judge refuses to recognize this. And the DV agencies are turning their backs because they do not want to deal with psychological abuse.

DIVORCED FAMILY VISITATION SOLUTIONS FOR THE CORONA VIRUS:

Many parents who are in the midst of a nasty custody have a hard enough time getting their visitations but with the Corona Virus, the alienating parent is now using this as another excuse. Here is a possible temporary substitution that the other parent should not impede with but if they do, it will make them look bad.

Try using Skype or FaceTime or find a game you all can play virtually together. Think outside the box. Chess can be played virtually. And many other games for two or more players. Also, ask for makeup time for the lost visitations. If it is a Skype session, don't be afraid to record it.

URGENT! I am working on getting Ryan Thomas and Dana Laquidara up to CT to do a conference both for parents and for Child Protective Service professionals on emotional abuse. While our nonprofit has some funding, it is not enough to cover Ryan’s plane flight costs. I have no problem putting him up at my house and driving him around. So what my request today is for donations for Ryan Thomas’s plane flights or someone to donate airfare from FL to CT or donate their mileage to us to pay for him. As some of you may remember, I was doing training on how to create and produce Cable Television programs. I have called this series, Speak Up Speak Out for now. It can be seen on Charter TV Channel 192 and eventually it will be available on the Community Access Station in Winstead, CT and then on Charter’s YouTube page.

Our first piece will be aired on the following dates in Charter CTV Channel 192.

Another positive result from the use of PAS Interventions tools:

Thanks for helping our case out with the color coded calendar, red flag behaviors and making a reference to Dr. Childress. These are critical tools in helping people understand the severity of the abuse, how it occurs and how to successfully treat it.

In our case, the court already recognized alienation and had appointed an interventionist. Our attorney needed to see our completed color coded calendar, the clinical letter from Dr. Childress and the Three Strikes Parent Plan to do his job. Through these tools, I could communicate to him the severity of abuse. He could see that while monetary sanctions might compel a parent to physically bring children to visits accoutability in the Three Strikes parent plan was critical to getting them there mentally. Using these tools I could communicate to him that children have to be physically and mentally present for reunification to occur....

We got the word today. After 5 years, lots of pain and money custody has been reversed. Mostly due to tenacity, a good attorney, and a lot of prayers. We won! J is here, safe and happy. He will now finally have a relationship with both sides of his family without the constant fear of retribution for caring about them.
