SEEKING VETERANS!

This is an enormous project by any measurement! Veterans can make this happen. We are the people who run to a challenge instead of away from it. This will be a one-of-a-kind facility in the United States.

The Greatest Generation is defined as the generation that grew up during the Great Depression, fought in World War 2, and came home to build the world’s strongest economy. They used the values they learned through their experiences to raise strong families. They learned important values such as hard work, determination, and the importance of money. Other values like trust, compassion, sacrifice, and strength through adversity defined their lifestyle as well. They earned the title of the Greatest Generation by their ability to recover from the Great Depression, their sacrifice for the sparing of the world from tyranny during World War 2, and their contribution to the construction of one of the greatest countries of the world. That work ethic, motivation, experience and talent still exists in our Veteran population today. Less than 1% of the US population serves in the military. Our numbers may be fewer than those returning from World War II - our impact can be just as dramatic. Saint Michael's Veteran Entrepreneurial Institute is designed to help Veteran entrepreneurs and Veteran Owned Businesses.

Veterans please consider the following opportunities:

1. Do you have a company that can provide products or services to help us develop Saint Michael's Veteran Entrepreneurial Institute? We need your help and all/part may be tax deductible (please consult your tax/financial advisor).

2. Do you have a company that needs a Veteran friendly location? The potential of Saint Michael's Veteran Entrepreneurial Institute is limitless.

3. Do you have access to sources of funding? Saint Michael's Veteran Entrepreneurial Institute needs funding to acquire the facility, develop the site, nurture Veteran owned businesses/entrepreneurs, and sustain operations.

4. Do you have access to political representatives? Saint Michael's Veteran Entrepreneurial Institute needs National support from our political representatives.

5. Do you have a skill and would like to volunteer? Saint Michael's Veteran Entrepreneurial Institute has many opportunities to help.

FUTURE USE STUDY - Southbury Training School

The Town of Southbury commissioned a study to explore future uses of Southbury Training School. Southbury Training School was designed as a self-sufficient residential training and education facility - not a hospital. Although it does provide medical care for the residents, its primary purpose was training and education of residents through on-site programs. Saint Michael's Veteran Entrepreneurial Institute will use the facility exactly as it was designed - on-site training, education and support programs for Veterans.

The study highlights support of Veteran programs as one of its highest priorities. The study is available at the following link -
