SHE HAS BEEN FOUND! She was picked up yesterday apparently and is at spca.

This pretty girl is missing from Hunterbrook Rd in Queensbury. She wandered off Wednesday afternoon and no sightings have been reported as of yet. She is very friendly with people and other dogs, but she may be scared.
If you see her, please do not try to run up on her or yell out to her. Definitely do not follow with your vehicle, just try to see where she is going and call us immediately. Thank you

We are heading up to Lake George to help with a dog that’s wandering near Lockhart Mountain Rd. Nobody seems to know where he came from, but he has been hanging out in the same place for 3 days, so possibly dumped.
He is very skittish so if anyone sees him, please do not engage with him, please just call us. If anyone recognizes him or knows where he possibly came from please call us. I will scan him for a chip if I can get him trapped. Thank you!

This pretty girl is missing from Judmar Ave in Queensbury. The gate was left open unintentionally by lawn guys and she ran out. She could possibly be in Potters Woods. She will be very scared but is very friendly. If you see her please just call us, we are on our way up there now. Thank you!

I’m genuinely curious about this. When I post a missing dog and clearly ask not to engage with dog, not to chase or call out to and not to approach, what does that mean to you? I keep thinking maybe I’m wording it wrong.

These are some of the true answers and my responses when someone calls me and tells me when they see the target dog:

1. “I saw the dog but he looked scared so I tried to get him in my car and he ran”
Me: Yes he’s afraid of you

2. “I only got out of the car and approached to see if it was really him”
Me: how did that work out

3. “You said not to chase so I only followed him with a leash”
Me: …🤦‍♀️

4. “I’m really good with dogs so I figured he would come”
Me: apparently not that good

5. “I called the dogs name and whistled to him but he won’t even come to his name”
Me: I’m changing my phone number

6. “I saw the dog your looking for 4 days ago, he looked really skinny and sick. I’ve seen the posters but wasn’t sure if I should call”
Me: why do you think we have neon posters up with the dogs picture and bold print phone number?

7. “Your dog has been hanging out behind my house for a week. I’ve been trying to get him comfortable with me”
Me: he’s not your dog and he needs help going home

And the one that absolutely pi**es me off the most:

“The dog was running down the road so I followed him slowly in my car to see where he was going”.
Me: HE’S RUNNING BECAUSE YOU ARE CHASING HIM WITH YOUR CAR!!”

When we post “please ignore and do not engage, just call”. It truly means we do NOT want you intervening in ANY way with this dog. You put him/her in extreme danger and only prolong them coming home. Please do better! Thank you!
