Get your cats spayed/neutered!!! It saves so many lives!

Helllloooo Elkhart! We are looking forward to coming back to Elkhart on July 7th to fix more cats and kittens (6 weeks and older).

We charge $100 per cat/kitten but we also have some financial assistance available thanks to our friends at Pet Friendly Services! Additional assistance for Elkhart County residents may be available by contacting Elkhart County Feral Cat Coalition.

Bacon has gotten a lot of attention….she’s so dang cute. But, Cheddar (Mr. Handsome) needs your attention, as well. They both deserve the chance to start new healthy, loving chapters in their young lives!

The top left dog is Bacon. And the bottom right is Cheddar. Both dogs will be having surgery this week thanks to Friends of South Bend Animal Resource Center !!!
Bacon 🥓 is having her back leg amputated.
Cheddar is having a mass removed. We're searching for a home they can recover in.

Our Foster-to-Adopt Program is a great option for anyone who is still on the fence about bringing a new pet into their home. This program allows you to take a dog or cat home on a trial basis to see if they're the right fit for your family, lifestyle, and other pets.

We have had some amazing followers ask about donating to help with Cheddar’s and Bacon’s surgeries. All donations will go to Friends of South Bend Animal Resource Center which is a 501c3 nonprofit that supports SBARC and will be used to pay for their surgeries/care. AT THIS POINT, THE TOTAL BILL IS $1,020. Below is our PayPal link, you can mail a check made out to Friends of SBARC to 61450 Druid Lane, South Bend 46614, or you can drop off your donation to the shelter at 521 Eclipse Pl, South Bend (checks need to be made out to Friends of SBARC). Don’t forget about awesome Cheddar! He is also in need of a calm foster home while he recovers from his surgery this coming Wednesday, as well!!!

This is Cheddar. He is 2 years old and the very best boy. But, he needs our help. Cheddar is undergoing surgery next week to remove a mass on his chest. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FOSTER WHO CAN TAKE IN CHEDDAR DURING HIS RECOVERY. He’ll need a calm home, he’ll most likely be wearing a cone of shame, and be on pain pills and antibiotics. That’s it…nothing too difficult!

Friends of South Bend Animal Resource Center is covering the cost of his surgery, but he needs a place outside of the shelter to recover.

Could it be YOU?

Please consider helping Cheddar. If you are interested, complete a foster application ASAP because his surgery is next week.

The Friends of SBARC is also stepping up to help this sweetie pie, named Bacon, have life saving surgery to amputate her right rear leg. Bacon was a stray that came to the shelter with what appears to be a severe leg injury probably due to being hit by a car. They are estimating her to be 2 years old and is a petite girl (34 lbs) who gets along with other dogs and loves people. Even with this injury, she is full of life and love.

Bacon’s surgery will be this upcoming week, and again, WE ARE PLEADING WITH YOU TO HELP US FIND A CALM FOSTER HOME WHERE SHE CAN RECOVER. Being at the shelter while she goes through her recovery is just not the best option for this wonderful girl.

Friends of SBARC is paying for her surgery and the South Bend Animal Resource Center will give you their full support with food, medications, etc.

I know we are asking A LOT to help us find foster homes for two pups who are going to need a place to recover post surgery, but they are so worth our efforts.

Please, please consider fostering Bacon or Cheddar (sounds like the beginning of a great burger!!) after their surgeries this week….probably both on Wednesday. We are honored to be able to save their lives. If you can’t foster, please share. Thank You! ❤️🐾
