For those of you who remember her, Kate tended bar for us during the early Saturday shift years ago while she was putting herself through nursing school. Please say a prayer for her — she was 39 years old.

Kate Elizabeth Sienkowski Obituary

Kate Elizabeth Sienkowski of Longs, South Carolina passed away on June 17, 2026. Kate, born on November 26, 1986 in La Porte, Indiana, shared life alongside family, friends, and others. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Kate will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Kate will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Kate’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.

She is survived by: her parents, Jennifer Blackwell (Ira) and Thomas A. Sienkowski (Stephanie); her brother Thomas E. Sienkowski (Jessica); her nephews, TJ Sienkowski and Jacob Sienkowski; and her stepsisters, Lacie Martin and Jennifer Doughty. She is also survived by nieces and nephew.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A rosary will be held on Friday, June 26th 2026 at 6:30 PM. A burial will be held on Saturday, June 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery (1015 Greenwood Ave, Michigan City, IN 46360).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local animal shelters in her memory.

Dear Members and Friends,

What an incredible afternoon. Our Święconka celebration exceeded every hope we had for it, and that is entirely thanks to you. The turnout was nothing short of extraordinary. We filled the rooms, filled the tables, and—much sooner than expected—emptied every platter we prepared.

While we certainly hadn’t planned on running out of food and space quite so early, we’re choosing to see it for what it truly was: a joyful sign of a growing, vibrant community eager to gather, celebrate tradition, and spend time together. Your presence made the event feel warm, lively, and full of the spirit that defines the St. Joseph Young Men’s Society.

Thank you for your enthusiasm, your patience, and your good humor as we navigated the unexpected crowds. These are the kinds of “good problems” that remind us how strong and connected our community has become.

We’re already looking ahead to future events with renewed energy—and with plans for more food and more space. Your support inspires us to keep building, improving, and creating gatherings worthy of your time and participation.

It’s that time of year again — get a chance to win one of two sets of two Notre Dame football season tickets! Again this year, only 1000 tickets will be sold. To order, copy the order blank and fill it out. Mail it along with your check for $20.00 per entry to the parish office. (Terry Litka has a limited number of tickets on his person and you can buy your chance from him.) All the necessary details are in the pictures here. If necessary, call the Parish office for additional assistance. Of course cash prizes are available if you do not want the football tickets.
