What an incredible opportunity we had to spend time with the students and staff at The Excel Center South Bend, a program of Goodwill!
We were truly honored to be invited to share the story of Angels in the Attic, our mission, and the work we're doing throughout our community to support survivors of domestic violence and their families.
But what made this experience especially meaningful was standing in front of a room filled with determined, driven adults who have made the decision to invest in themselves and their futures. ❤️
To each and every student we had the privilege of meeting, we are SO proud of you!
Returning to school, pursuing your high school diploma, developing new skills, and working toward a brighter future takes courage, commitment, and perseverance.
One of the messages I felt especially led to share was that our past does not have to define our future. We are the authors of our own stories, and every day presents an opportunity to turn the page, begin a new chapter, and create a different ending.
Your story isn't over. The best chapters may still be ahead of you! 💜
At Angels in the Attic, we are incredibly grateful for the community partnerships we've built over the years and the new relationships we continue to form.
We firmly believe that when community organizations work together, the individuals and families we serve are the ones who truly benefit.
No single organization can meet every need, but together, we can bridge gaps, share resources, remove barriers, and create a stronger, more comprehensive network of support for those who need it most.
Whether it's education, employment opportunities, safe housing, counseling, emergency assistance, or simply providing the basic necessities to help a family get back on its feet, collaboration allows us to serve our community more effectively and make a greater, lasting impact.
Because at the end of the day, it's not about what any one organization can accomplish alone. It's about what we can accomplish TOGETHER for the people who are counting on us. 💜
A very special thank you to Omeria Sibanda and the entire team at The Excel Center South Bend for welcoming Angels in the Attic, believing in the potential of your students, and allowing us the opportunity to share not only what we do, but WHY we do it.
We walked away feeling just as inspired by these students as we hope they were by our message.
