The Pabst Light Sports Garden opens at The Gridiron on Saturday, October 24, from 12:00 to 6:00 PM, and it’s Dynasty Sports Film Festival’s home base between screenings. Pull up a chair in front of the big screens, grab a bite from local food trucks, and settle in with fellow fans for one of the biggest sports weekends of the year:

🎾 Give Me the Ball | 12 PM | Bendix Arena
Catch Billie Jean King at the height of her career in this gripping documentary about one of tennis’s true legends.

🎥 Short Film Blocks | 1–2:20 PM | South Bend Civic Theatre
A lineup of shorts from storytellers bringing fresh perspectives to the world of sport.

🏀 First Five | 3 PM | Bendix Arena
An up-close look at the five Midwestern young men who made up Coach Bob Knight’s very first recruiting class at Indiana University. Stick around afterward for a Q&A with the First Five players themselves.

🥊 I Play Rocky | 6 PM AMC Classic South Bend
The South Bend premiere! See it a full month before it hits theaters and find out what everyone’s talking about.

Get ready for November First Fridays: Arts After Dark. This first Fridays we’re highlighting the incredible businesses on the 400 block of S Michigan St. that help to contribute to arts and culture here downtown. Stop in at Artifact Vintage & Design, Highland Studio & Gallery, and The Rocki Button to browse unique pieces, check out live performances from bands and comedians, grab a drink, and explore all downtown has to offer.

Lights, camera, game day. 🎬🏈

The very first Dynasty Sports Film Festival kicks off tomorrow, and downtown South Bend is ready for it. From Thursday, October 22 through Sunday, October 25, screenings will take place at venues across the city, bringing stories of grit, teamwork, and the people behind the game to the big screen.

Grab your friends, pick your films, and make a weekend of it. Plan dinner before a screening, catch a drink after, and enjoy everything downtown has to offer in between.

Congratulations to Sunny Italy Cafe, the oldest restaurant in downtown South Bend, on celebrating a century. Since 1926, Sunny Italy has been a cornerstone of our downtown, feeding generations of families, students, and neighbors who know exactly where to go for a great plate of pasta.

What makes it even more special is the family behind it. The Bamber family has poured their hearts into this kitchen since 1940, keeping the recipes, the hospitality, and the history alive for more than 85 years. Places like this are the reason downtown feels like home.

Thank you, Sunny Italy Cafe, for 100 years of good food and great memories. Here’s to the next 100! 🥂 Share your Sunny Italy memories with us. We'd love to hear them.
