How we help people… and our community
There’s nothing like knowing you have a good job and the independence to take care of yourself and your family. We offer an opportunity for individuals to overcome barriers such as a lack of work experience, speaking English, a criminal background or physical disabilities. Clients meet with a Job Coach to determine their strengths and identify challenges. Res
ume preparation, mock interviews and learning how to conduct a job search are among the tools they receive along their journey. Work experience at Goodwill and through corporate partners, help to renew both skills and confidence. We Help People with Physical Disabilities
Clients with physical disabilities work one-on-one with an Employment Specialist to find work that is meaningful and appropriate. Potential employers consult with the Client and Employment Specialist to fully understand his / her individual strengths and limitations in the work setting. Accommodations are provided in the work area as needed and follow-up visits ensure that the work and environment are a good fit. We Help Women
Nurse Family Partnership is a program we offer that pairs a BSN Nurse with an expectant mother to help make sure they get everything they need to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. We also provide a wrap-around service to the entire family to make sure every member has the resources they need to be successful. We Help Ex Offenders
Goodwill’s 2nd Chance at Work Program provides a step by step process for independence to those who are ex offenders. Participants learn how to be reliable employees with good attendance and work habits. A Case Manager guides each individual through the development process, including work experience and the job search process. We Help the Community
When we strengthen the individual, we strengthen our community. And Goodwill’s outreach extends to everyone looking for a job in these difficult times. Through Community Career Centers in Mishawaka and Warsaw, Indiana, there are resources available free of charge to the general public. The facilities are equipped with work stations for job searches, word processing and training. Workshops taught by Goodwill experts and corporate partners are available, as well as job fairs with multiple companies seeking employees. We Help Businesses
Good employees are the backbone of every successful business. Goodwill is a valuable partner for many area businesses to help them find just the right employee with the skills and background to perform the work that needs to be done. Goodwill’s Industrial Services Division provides area businesses with specialized packaging, mailing and manufacturing services, allowing them to expand their capabilities without the associated cost of additional warehouse space and employees.
