As we celebrate 60 years of Encompass, we’ve been inviting our community to “Share Your Encompass Story.”

This week, we celebrate Joellen Monson, a former board member who was involved during a pivotal moment in our history as we constructed and opened our Early Learning Center. She reflects on her time with Encompass and how it allowed her to model for her young daughter the importance of giving back to the community.

Encompass is pleased to offer a fall session of our popular Story Stage: Theater Group.

Story Stage is a creative therapeutic group where children use storytelling, acting, and movement to strengthen communication, social, and emotional skills. Through collaborative play and guided activities, they create characters, build a shared story, and bring their ideas to life while practicing teamwork, flexible thinking, and self-expression.

Sessions begin the week of October 19 with participants ages 6-8 years on Monday afternoons and ages 8-11 years on Tuesday afternoons.

Mark Schenfeld of Stokes Auction Group has been the Encompass Gala auctioneer for over 25 years. He uses sincerity and humor to connect with his audience, making for a fun and successful auction time and time again.

Join us on Thursday, October 29 for a fun, light-hearted therapeutic group designed to help kids ages 4-10 years build confidence for Halloween!

Facilitated by Encompass therapists in Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Mental Health, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩: 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 will be bright, colorful, multicultural, fun, and playful. 🚌 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐁𝐮𝐬 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥! 🚌

As a Bus Buddy Volunteer, you’ll play an important role in helping preschool children transition from school to home. By providing a welcoming presence and extra support during afternoon dismissal, you’ll help ensure children board the correct bus safely while creating a positive and reassuring end to their day.

This is an ongoing weekly volunteer opportunity from approximately 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Must be able to commit to at least one of the following days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.
