What Is Artificial Intelligence Changing in Our World?

Join the Rotary Club of Sisters today as we welcome Ralph Phillips, Professor in the Computer and Information Systems Department at Central Oregon Community College (COCC), for an engaging discussion on “Addressing Today’s Impact of Artificial Intelligence.”

With 27 years of experience teaching IT at the college level, including the past 21 years at COCC, Ralph brings a wealth of knowledge in technology, web development, computer concepts, and productivity software.

We’re excited to welcome 2026–27 Rotary District 5110 Governor Bruce Allen to the Rotary Club of Sisters tomorrow, Tuesday, October 6! 🌟

Bruce has been a Rotarian since 1992 and a member of the Greater Albany Rotary Club (Oregon - Rotary District 5110) since 2013. Now retired from his management role with Willamette Water Technology Inc., he has been especially active in Rotary District 5110’s membership efforts.

And he has a message that gets right to the heart of Rotary:

“Membership is the lifeblood of Rotary.”

Bruce will share his perspective on the incredible impact Rotary has around the world and why bringing new people into Rotary matters for the future of our communities and the next generation.

With a passion for thinking beyond today and into the next two generations, Bruce brings a meaningful perspective on what Rotary can accomplish when we continue to grow, serve and connect.

Sisters Rotary Club would like to thank Steve Stancliff, Principal of Sisters High School, for joining us as our guest speaker on September 15!

Steve shared updates on the new school year and the incredible opportunities available to students at Sisters High School. From academics and athletics to hands-on learning, outdoor adventures, aviation, and the arts, SHS continues to provide a unique, relationship-driven learning environment where students can belong, prepare, and be inspired.

We are grateful for Steve’s leadership, the dedication of our local educators, and the many ways Sisters High School partners with our community to support the next generation.

Thank you, Steve, for all you do for Sisters students and families!

When disaster strikes, the Rotary spirit reminds us that compassion and service know no borders.

Following the devastating floods in Nepal that have displaced children and families, Sisters residents and High Camp owners are stepping up to help. Inspired by their efforts, the Sisters Rotary Club and Sisters Rotary Foundation have committed a donation toward relief efforts, including ShelterBox support, to help provide shelter and essential resources to those in need.

This effort is a powerful example of what happens when a community comes together to make a difference. Through the generosity of our club members and the Sisters Rotary Foundation's matching support, we hope to help bring safety, shelter and hope to families facing unimaginable challenges.

We invite our community to learn more about the local connection to this important relief effort and the work being done to support children and families in Nepal.

Earlier this week, the Rotary Club of Sisters was proud to recognize one of our own, Rand Rietmann, on being honored as a Paul Harris Fellow +8.

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is one of Rotary International's highest honors, celebrating those whose generosity and dedication help advance Rotary's mission of creating lasting change around the world. Achieving a +8 level represents years of extraordinary commitment to "Service Above Self" and a deep investment in making communities stronger, both locally and globally.

Rand exemplifies what it means to be a Rotarian. Through his leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment to serving others, he has made a meaningful impact on countless lives. His dedication inspires our club and reminds us of the power of giving back.

Congratulations, Rand, and thank you for your continued service, generosity, and the example you set for all of us. We are honored to celebrate this well-deserved recognition with you.
