The NAMA Conservation & Stewardship Committee is accepting applications for a scholarship that will enable one first-time attendee to participate in NAMA's 66th Annual Foray in Marquette, Michigan, August 27–30, 2026.

The scholarship includes:
• Registration for the Annual Foray (does not include travel)

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from fellow mycophiles, explore the forests of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and become more involved in the NAMA community.

Application deadline: June 15, 2026

Meet the talented NAMA members/artists participating in this Saturday’s Game of Shrooms!

Ginger is the Chair of NAMA’s Visual Arts Committee, and an eco-conscious artist who uses an eclectic mix of sustainable materials—both natural and reclaimed. Her pieces often incorporate locally-sourced wool, driftwood, foraged fungi, thrifted fabrics, architectural salvage, and recycled scrap metal. This will be her first Game of Shrooms. NAMA's 2026 Annual Foray will be held on the shores of the Great Lake Superior in Marquette, Michigan. This area is known as the Upper Peninsula or "U.P." and residents proudly call themselves "Yoopers;" our event's name is an homage to this charming colloquialism.

Join hundreds of your fellow mycophiles amid thick forests during the prime foraying season by day, then return to the modern Northern Center for presentations, meals, socials and the evening programming we all enjoy together.

Why not put together a art-making event to get the creativity flowing, foster community, and drum up excitement for June 13th’s Game of Shrooms annual art-n-seek global bonanza.

This year, NAMA’s Visual Arts Committee is partnering with Game of Shrooms to encourage NAMA members to sign up and participate in this incredible once-a-year finders/keepers art-n-seek mushroom-themed art holiday taking place on Saturday, June 13. Artists: be sure to sign up (free!) and drop your pin on the official Artist Map on the Game of Shrooms website. Dropped pins help finders figure out if there will be artwork hidden in their neighborhoods and which artists to follow on social media for clues on the day of the event.
